THE ONE SHOW 2024 大変光栄なことに、世界三大広告賞であるONESHOWにて、GOLD PENCIL, SILVER PENCILを受賞しました🥇🥈高等学校相撲金沢大会のポスター群で、昨年から2年連続でのGOLD受賞です。 この仕事は2016年から8年以上継続していますが、複数の金賞銀賞を受賞するのは72校の相撲部ポスター以来。構造と手数で勝負した前回とは打って変わり、今年はビジュアルアイデア一発のシンプルな原稿、かつアートディレクターとして一人立ちしてから初の金銀複数受賞になるのでとても嬉しいです。 授賞式では審査員仲間のLinusに再会できたことや、Instagramを通じて知り合っていたマカオのLamと挨拶を交わせたことも今年ならではの嬉しい出来事でした。（英語を勉強しなければ！） I’m incredibly honored to share that we’ve won the Gold Pencil and Silver Pencil at the ONESHOW, one of the top three advertising awards in the world! This was for our posters for the Kanazawa High School Sumo Tournament, and it’s our second consecutive year winning Gold. We’ve been working on this project for over eight years since 2016. The last time we received multiple gold and silver awards was for the 72 high school sumo club posters. Unlike our previous work that focused on structure and complexity, this year’s submission was a simple, impactful visual idea. It’s also my first time winning multiple gold and silver awards as an independent art director, so I’m really thrilled. I also got to attend the award ceremony for the first time in a while, and it was great to catch up with fellow judge Linus and finally meet Lam from Macau, whom I knew through Instagram. These moments made this year’s ceremony extra special. (I really need to brush up on my English too!) Shooting flying motorcycles is rather like airplane photography. On a plane you have to use slower shutter speeds to avoid freezing the prop and with motorcycles you don't want to freeze the wheel spokes. 1/250th second worked fine here. They said it was too windy to do all of their stunts. I think the small crowd size had more to do with it. 2024년 1월 28일. 보관된 글. 왜 썼는지 누구에 대한 글인지도 기억나지 않는다. 흐릿한 글 위로 정확히는 2024년 4월 13일 새벽 2시 40분에 이 글을 쓰고 있다. 오가는 작업 피드백에 자꾸 끊기지만. 얼마 전 몇달 만에 보는 것 같은 친구 얼굴을 보고 달려가 왈칵 눈물을 쏟은 밤이 있다. 책을 못 읽어 슬픈 채로 친구 블로그 글을 읽고 위안을 얻은 밤이 있다. 잠시 포기한 것들이 영영 사라질까 두려웠던 날이 있다. 몰입하는 시간들은 어둡고 차갑고 외롭다. 그치만 이 안에서 감각한 것들과 참아낸 것들은 결코 쉽게 얻어낼 수 없는 것들이다. 부딪히지 않았으면 알지 못했을 많은 것들.. 4개월 전, 고민(과 변덕)의 시간을 지나고 결심을 했기에 결정을 내렸다. 좋은 회사에서 멋진 동료들과 일하는 경험도 충분히 값졌지만 안주하지 않고 문득 한계 언저리에 도전하고 싶었다. 1년에 딱 한번 열리는 국제 광고 공모전에 학생으로서 작품을 낼 수 있는 기회를 잡고, 몰두했다. 회의, 작업, 또 회의, 또 작업의 연속.. 남들보다 늦게 합류했지만 끝까지 원팀으로 함께 버티고 해낸 팀원들이 있어서 가능했다. 각자의 역할이 다 있었다. ’광고‘에 대한 저마다의 스토리를 자세히 나누지는 못한 것 같은데 못다한 이야기는 다음주 뉴욕 가서 더 해야 겠다. 고맙고 정말 수고했다는 말도 한번 더. 내가 가고자 하는 길을 미리 걸어본 단 한 명의 조언과 공유, 푸시만 있어도 꿈을 꾸고 점프업 할 수 있는 것 같다고 느꼈다. 그리고 내가 좋아하는 일, 잘하고 싶은 일에 대해서 뿐만 아니라 이 일을 잘해서 훗날 이 일을 하고 싶은 이들이 덜 헤맬 수 있도록 돕는 일에 대해서도 생각하게 되었다. 이외에도 이런저런 것들을.. 그리고 나중에 시간이 지나고 이때를 추억하고 그리워하겠지하면서. 오늘 밤 각자 자리에서 몰입하는 고뇌하는 사람들을 꼬옥 안아주고 싶다. ”내 마음의 삶을 기록하는 시간을 보내고 나면, 하루의 나머지 시간을 미련하게 보낼 권리가 생긴다.“ 폴 발레리의 말이다. 미뤄둔 마음의 기록들. 미련한 시간들을 다시 개시할 시간이다 ! 사진은 1월부터 4월. 맥북과 한몸이었던 나(랑 셀카 몇장) 그리고 옆에서 늘 아낌없이 서포트 해주는 사랑들. 든든하고 고마운 사랑 사랑 사랑들 !
