I've been listening to this swedish street rock band for what feels like forever, while back I finally managed to get their second full-length to my collection. I'm not sure if the problem is in me (has been quite a while since I've been in mood for this kind of stuff) or on the record, but I was unable to find similar bangers as on their other records.. but either way that's a shame as this is absolutely great band. @acephalix_official - Deathless Master. I'm always very wary when testing any death metal band I'm not familiar in advance.. and even more so with any American metal band. But something got my to give this American death/crust band a try. And I'm glad that I did. Emphasis isn't on the death part and isn't following the most obvious guidelines of either genre. Part "Nachtmystium haul 1" Just went through pictures on my phone and I seem to have several weeks worth of records to go through (mostly black metal) and lots of other cool stuff to add.. especially car pics. As I already told before, there will be plenty more of Nachtmystium to so here's the next part. I really need to find their newer full-lengths to my collection, I'm more than a little intrigued how they've evolved from here on. Nachtmystium - Eulogy IV. This EP is probably the least memorable of the band's records I've listened so far.. although it's not the worst one. It (with others I have) give very interesting view how band's style has evolved throughout years it was active. Nachtmystium - Worldfall. This one is very different animal all together. I've noticed that this one is getting a loads of hate online due to it's sounds, mixing psychedelic rock to black metal, and because band keeps shifting it's towards unexpected. It's true that it has throughout softer approach than anything they've released before (and that's a massive red flag to many BM fans), but I really enjoy this style. Nachtmystium / Krieg - Daze West split EP. This one came out between the above and has one original and one cover from each. Yesterday I had a day off so I had time to finalize Deadsled's sound system and make it sound the way I like it: loud, clean & heavy! I decided not to touch the original radio at all (I've learned something from working with Cadillacs before) and to make whole another setup to the side, which actually made things a lot easier, as in car this big having room to place things isn't the first issue. All the parts are the same as I was using in Pontiac, so after stripping everything off it the only cost were screws and "self-made mounting brackets" for front speakers. To be honest, I'm not a fan of the color of the rear speakers, but there aren't that many good 7x10 speakers to choose from, so I'll have to learn to live with those... Or paint them... 🤔 Also at some point I might move the other amp also to hidden compartment under the floor and same time clean the wires better away from the view. Also little sticker bombing done. Very new Finnish goth rock band that have musically placed themselves in spot near The 69 Eyes without kitschy theatrics. Outcome is very catchy and the mood stays constantly dark without becoming broody or pompous. They have recently released their first full-length. So this is what I ended up getting to be our daily driver. Cadillac Fleetwood Federal Hearse '96 (don't know exact version of Federal, sorry..) For a long time I've wanted to get one of the last big RWD Cadillacs, one that has awesome LT1 engine, and even longer I've wanted a hearse. Out of blue I suddenly had chance to kill two birds with single stone. As if that wasn't intriguing enough already, this has extremely small mileage, fully working AC, it's (obviously) well maintained, comes straight from official use, all gear still intact and body bag included.. and company was interested in swapping head on to Pontiac. I wasn't going to let this go by! Now that I found this EP/maxi single from second hand shop there was no reason not to get it. Title song with military theme is load of fun and couple other great songs is a good start. @covenant_sweden - Northern Light. Darkwave from our western neighbors. Their song, Call The Ships To Port, is one my all time favorite songs. Now I finally got it to my collection on CD. Wumpscut - Born Again. Mainly a combination of remixes of older songs. Not from my favorite era of Wumpscut.. but nice add to collection. @redharvest.band - Sick Transit Gloria Mundi. This industrial black metal band is one of those I've wanted to like more so much, but there's something about vocals or something I can't stand for more than few songs at the time. I found super cheap amp and line converter and also reasonably priced 2-way component set. With those I'll just need a new affordable driver's seat belt and it's set for the summer... Feeding my addiction. Part "Mystic Flame of the Night" To be honest I have lots of black metal records to go through with proper time and thought, so there's vast amount of these to drop. But living without CD player means it'll take a while. These also came from @horrorshop666 's wares. Check them out, there's still a lot of gems to be found. Nachtmystium - Demise. Here's a band I had heard so much before, and not only good things. People either obsessively love them or hate them to the core, and on top of that it's American band whose member was imprisoned for stealing fans' money. So I was wary this prove to be utter crap. My surprise was very positive. On this album (from several reviews I've understood that their style and sound has evolved quite a bit and has been all over the place) they remind me very strongly of Belus/Fallen -era of Burzum, which I like a lot. To be honest this has been the album I've listened the most within last month or two. Trust me, this won't be the last time I'm mentioning them. Flame - March into Firelands. I can't start without mentioning how this band has very bland logo (I was drawing graffitis that looked like that back in the 90s) and least original name imaginable. But thanks to @lahteenmaki.jere I decided to give it a try. Glad I did. It's hard to guess we're talking about Finnish band, as sound is derived by mixing thrash and black metal with slight hints of old school death. Luckily mix remains fresh enough not to become stale, overused, too much of anything or sounding like Metallica with artists that can actually play. Blast from the past. My first F-body: Chevrolet Camaro RS 1989 with V6 and manual. For some reason people tend to complain about these V6 Camaros, but honestly I think these are actually better base model V8s, as these have only little less power but a lot less weight and V6 sits neatly behind front axle, so this was absolutely amazing driver on smaller roads and at winter. I learned a hard lesson about being too cheap to buy new winter tires in time, when accidentally dropped my previous Cadillac in a deep ditch and it was basically totalled. That left me needing a new daily driver and quick. I was lucky to find this for sale in nearby village. Wintertime, no proper wheels, no stereos and hadn't been in use for several years. But it was inspected just before winter, rust free and really cheap (especially compared to prices these days) I didn't need to consider for long. This ended up being one of my favorite cars I've ever owned, and it got driven HARD!! It also become to be a proper workhorse carrying huge loads, as can be seen.. It's story with me eventually ended with massive vacuum leak, which I had no time or place to fix. But there's always some classics I'm still missing. Also there isn't much modern rap I'm willing to spend any money on. Various artists - Muggs presents: The Soul Assassins - chapter 1. Not often one finds compilation from 90s that includes original songs from talents like Dr Dre and Rza, but then again DJ Muggs just anyone. Basically this is one of those records that shouldn't need any explanation. @sarahblackwoodmusic - Way Back Home. Blackwood sisters have been my favorites singing on The Creepshow and now finding Sarah "Sin" Blackwood's first solo record from flee market it was certainly time to add it to my collection. Quite light hearted country album, probably won't get much spins, but not bad record by any means. @nekromantix_official - Curse of the Coffin. This is on of my absolute all time favorite records and it includes several of my favorite songs (as can be seen.) So far I've only had it on vinyl, so getting CD was due time. I've been starting to notice how many great black metal bands are found from France, and Glorior Belli is one of the better ones. They're mixing black metal with southern rock. On this album the addition is still very slight but band's sound is recognizable. @fotnephilimofficial - Blue Water (12" single) / The Nephilim. Fields Of The Nephilim has been a band I haven't given attention as I've found all songs I've tried way too lame. Now I got really good deal on these that I couldn't pass. Deströyer 666 came to my knowledge fully at last years Steelfest, as my friend recommended checking them out. They're very strong live band and indeed worth checking. Now I finally got chance to check them on record. These Australians are mixing various amounts of death and thrash to black metal. Of these two albums I must admit that Cold Steel.. stole my points for being rawer and fresher. Defiance was lightly lagging behind by being cleaner and having too much death at forefront. Part "Black Black Friday. pt.2" As I mentioned before, I'm fortunate to live near not one but two amazing record stores that carry vast amounts of black metal and knowledge on the subject. The other one being #sarvilevyt . Trying to go through the massive piles of records in this tiny shop is experience on it's own. @urgehal_ - Goatcraft Torment. As I've mentioned before also, I've been getting into Urgehal lately. Songs on this record being the main reason. It's an absolute masterpiece. @craftblackmetal - White Noise and Black Metal. Well, as said, it's black metal. But Craft is very much different beast than Urgehal. Craft is taking somewhat more atmospheric approach.. but not in a way that it would hazy or esoteric, but it still manages to be beautiful and hypnotizing. Band's logo and the title of the record got me expecting something very different (yeah, never heard any tunes before getting this), but I got very pleasant surprise. This black friday I decided to visit them both. First the further one: @horrorshop666 @kyyofficial11 - Beyond Flesh - Beyond Matter - Beyond Death. Local talent. I really enjoyed their first EP and I've been listening to it for many years. Finally I managed to get myself their first full-length, that was released already five years ago. Managed only to give it a quick listen, and Kyy isnot inventing anything new on this album, but they're doing their deed so well that they put many more accomplished and well-rewieved bands to shame. @urgehal_ - Atomkinder. For the last couple months go-to black metal bands have been Midnight and Urgehal. As Midnight's base lies in speed and thrash metal and turning that towards black metal and black'n'roll. Urgehal is obviously European and Norwegian it's kinship to other Norwegian bands is clear, but Urgehal adds it's ow spices to the mix, like fistful of Motörhead on overdrive, and outcome is something that just works so well. Blast from the past. Remembering my first American car many many years ago. Before this I was making some tuning cars and I was involved with some brand clubs, but it didn't feel at all like a right thing for me. I had been interested in American cars since early childhood, but I was convinced by others that owning one was expensive and very difficult. So I decided to begin with something that has front wheel drive and smaller injected engine. At perfect time I came by this, 1989 Buick Regal with 2.8 multiport-FI. Just over 200 thousand kilometers driven, no rust and every way decent condition. Only customization done to it was about dozen red led lights riddled around the interior. I built some sort of ok soundsystem and used it as a daily driver for about three years, which included a lot traveling all around county. Once again my wrapped is zero seconds and it won't be changing any time soon. @bathead.music - Blood, Sweat & Hate / Your Big Bat Nightmare / Knife in Your Back / Bat Undead. This was something I waited for a long long time, long enough to couple new records to come out.. But finally I managed to get myself Bathead's whole discography! I can imagine the idea behind the project started from question "why hasn't anyone ever combined EBM and horror punk?" Apparently this marriage benefits from both counterparts, so well it is working..! Musically this set feels like a journey through 30-40 years of gothic dance parties. Starting from old school EBM, including more synths, going darker and deeper, more like darkwave approach, and eventually including band elements of gothic rock in the mixture. Personally I found myself enjoying the most of the darkwave-isc Knife in Your Back EP, but it's hard battle as there's so much to like and to discover. Driving the Firebird reminded me that certainly isn't my first pony ride (pun intended.) So here's a #throwback to my first pony car days with the 'Stang. It was spring time about 10 years ago that I decided that I wanted something little less thirsty on the gas, as American as can be and most of all: fun. And keep in mind, I was very much a Ford guy at those times! Eventually I managed to find this 25th Anniversary Edition Fox-body 1989 Ford Mustang with four-banger, from coast. After some serious haggling it had to bought. Car looked good, had no rust issues, suspension was very well balanced, but it was seriously underpowered, due to said four-banger and AOD gearbox. So I ended up continuing to use my trusted T-bird (visible in the background. I'll get back on that some other time.)
