来月頭にある展示販売会にお誘いしてもらったので、出品するために制作した『Vera』 樹種はソノケリン(インドネシアンローズウッド) ソノケリンはローズウッドの仲間の中では、幾分軽い性質。(それでも比重は0.8以上あるから木材のなかでは結構重い) 紫掛かった褐色と黒の縞模様で落ち着いた雰囲気があります。 レザーは展示販売会用に支給してもらった姫路レザーの黒桟革(くろざんかく)で。 黒桟革とは白鞣し日本古来の製法で鞣した革に漆塗りで仕上げられた革。 戦国時代には甲冑に、現代では剣道の胴体などにも使われているとのこと。 漆の効果で水に対してとても強い。 表面はハリがあるので、上手く縫い込めるかちょっと不安だったけど、やってみるととても素直に座面の曲面になじんでくれた。 堅牢さと柔軟さ、両方あるってありがたい。 #patwoodworking #furniture #woodworking #sonokeling #urushi #家具 #木工 #ソノケリン #黒桟革 #自然 #共生 #100年家具 #madeinearth

製品価格値上げのお知らせ。 6月より一部製品の価格を改定致します。 円安により輸入されるレザーなどの仕入れ金額が上がったことも一因ですが、もう一点理由がありまして・・・。 定番品でも作っている最中により良く出来そうなアイデアや加工方法などを思いついたりします。 それを試してみて、結果が良ければ迷わず採用する。 ただ、その思いつきは効率化よりも良質化の方が多く、マイナーチェンジを重ねるごとに一つのモノに対する制作時間が長くなるという結果に。 「早く出来るコトもその内思いつくだろう」と思っていたら、どうやらそれは己への過大評価だったようで。 制作手間と販売金額のバランスが一番悪くなってしまったChair『Carly』は3割程度値上げをさせてもらおうと思います。 5月末までは現在の税込￥96,800で予約頂けます。 なおブラックチェリー、ウォルナット、メープルなどの輸入材は質の低下とそれに反する価格高騰のため、現在仕入れを見送っていますので、木材在庫のないものもあります。 それぞれの樹種の同系統の国産材である、山桜、オニグルミ、楓を用意しています。 オーダーの際にご相談させてください。 他の制作品も1割程度値上げするものもあります。 より良いモノを出すために、丁寧さを失わないように真摯に制作に向かい続けます。 引き続き応援して頂ければありがたいです。 #patwoodworking #furniture #woodworking #家具 #デザイン #木工 #自然 #共生 #100年家具 #madeinearth
