On Wednesday the Olympic flame 🔥 visited Corfu on its journey around Greece before being handed to France ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. It arrived on Wednesday afternoon by boat and was carried by distinguished athletes from Corfu, including three Olympians. It stayed overnight in the Lower Square in the centre of Corfu Town and departed on Thursday morning. It was officially handed to France in Athens yesterday and will depart today on a 19th century sailing ship across the Mediterranean Sea, to make landfall 12 days later in the southern port city of Marseille. Korfu: Ein zauberhafter Familienurlaub 🇬🇷 Einen für unsere Verhältnisse weniger aktiven Urlaub haben wir damals auf Korfu erlebt. Unser Hotel, das Ibiscus Corfu, lag etwas außerhalb von Acharavi und bot uns dennoch alles, was wir brauchten. Wir hatten einen kleinen Privatstrand nur wenige Meter von unserem Hotelzimmer entfernt. Selten haben wir in einem Urlaub so entspannt wie auf Korfu. Einfach mal die Seele baumeln lassen. Papa hat am Strand fleißig Sandskulpturen gebaut, die kleine Tochter hat alle Sandskulpturen sehr konzentriert wieder zerstört und Mama hat den Bücherwurm gemacht. Ein Spektakel für uns Eltern waren die täglichen Essenszeiten mit unserer kleinen Tochter. In besonderer Erinnerung ist uns da noch der Moment, als unsere Kleine fast bestialisch eine Erdbeere nach der anderen verschlungen hat und sich dabei das ganze Gesicht mit Erdbeeren verschmiert hat. Der Anblick war köstlich! So hat sie wohl ihre Leidenschaft für Erdbeeren entdeckt. Mit dem Bus aus Acharavi haben wir einen Ausflug in die Hauptstadt Korfu-Stadt unternommen. Dabei konnten wir neben der Hauptstadt Korfus auch die Landschaft der Insel noch etwas besser kennenlernen, denn Korfu ist eine sehr grüne, mit Wäldern bewachsene Insel. Gerade wenn die Kinder noch sehr klein sind, eignen sich kleine Hotels mit kurzen Wegen wie das Ibiscus Corfu ideal, um einen entspannten Urlaub mit der Familie zu verbringen. Vielleicht seid ihr gerade auf der Suche nach einer Inspiration für einen Familienurlaub und sucht ein nicht so überlaufenes Reiseziel. Dann könnte Corfu und besonders die Gegend um Acharavi interessant für euch sein.
