1973 Jensen Interceptor III, photographed at the Cornerhouse Meet, Charity Farm, Lancashire, 12/05/2024. The second Jensen of the day at the meet, this particular Interceptor has been used for the basis of diecast models- a quick google brings this up and where to buy one. BNC 680M build was completed 24th October 1973 and the car was registered 2nd November 1973. The car was fitted with a number of options: 8 Track Cartridge Player /Vinyl Roof/ Quartz lodine Fog Lamps/ White Wall Tyres/Driver and Passenger Door Mirrors/Rear Seat Belts. This car was purchased by Mr Allmand Smith of Macclesfield, owner of an architectural ironmongery business, on the 3rd May 1977 and was sold by Mr Allmand Smith 23rd June 2008. During 31 years of ownership the car covered just 8449 miles. BNC 680M has not been restored and, other than a paint spray, is original and as it left the factory in 1973. An enthusiast doesn't need an explanation about this English sports car we think. This Jensen has undergone a complete and intensive restoration spread over several years. The Interceptor originally comes from one of the sunny states of America and such a climate has the advantage that hardly any rust occured. The downside is that parts that are exposed to direct sunlight, such as the plastic and rubber parts, suffer UV damage. It took us some time before we found, for example, a left-hand drive, original dashboard without cracks, because the European copies also turned out to be sensitive to this. The body has been completely sanded to 'bare metal' to ensure that all body panels were rust-free. Only the front fenders had dents that we removed with hammers and patience. And there was hardly any rust. The only holes we had to weld were the places where the sidelights once were. All Lucas components as well as the wiring loom are carefully checked and repaired with the exception of the time clock, which is known as a notorious service refuser. We even found back the flexible engine compartment light on the radiator cowl on marketplace. We didn't liked the american market steering wheel and we replaced it for remake of a period-correct one. As you can see this Jensen has the rims of a MKIII. The previous owner allready overhauled the engine, gearbox and axles so we only checked them and did some necessary adjustments. We are looking for a true enthusiast for this Interceptor who wants perfection combined with usability and reliability. Someone who has already looked at several Jensen's knows enough when he/she sees quality. Whether you are a rider, collector or investor. The asking price is what can be expected for a completely and carefully restored Jensen, but certainly not more and amounts to €74,000 Think about it carefully before coming to view the car. Then we would be happy to tell you more about the extensive restoration of this Interceptor. Oldtimer Australia is delighted to offer for sale an extremely rare, factory right hand drive 1973 Jensen SP. As the saying goes . . . ‘if you know, you know’. This is absolutely the case with the Jensen SP, which was the most powerful, the fastest and one of the rarest and most exclusive cars Jensen ever built. A copy of the original production card on file confirms this car was ordered on 2nd March 1973. It was ordered with the following options: driver’s door mirror and a Voxson 8-Track player. This UK market car left the factory in the colour scheme of ‘havana’ (brown) with a black vinyl roof and a beige interior. The current owner acquired the car in the late 1980’s and it joined an extensive and eclectic collection. The engine was rebuilt soon after the car was acquired. There is an invoice on file from Ian Harris Engines from Bankstown in NSW dated April 1990. The paint and body were in ‘fair’ condition so a decision was made to strip the car to bare metal. The necessary body repairs were undertaken before the car was repainted. The owner didn’t like the original colour of ‘havana’ and chose to have the car repainted in the Jensen factory colour of ‘tangerine’. It is understood that this car was repainted some fifteen years ago. Once the restoration was completed, the car became part of static display. The engine was turned over on a regular basis but the car was never reregistered and driven on the road since the restoration was completed. This Jensen SP has not been driven for some 15 years and as a result it will require recommissioning. Prior to the car arriving in our showroom the owner did crank over the engine and it turns over easily. The Jensen interceptor… The customer had asked us to look at the front end that was previously modified to fit coilovers. We found that the folded sheet metal was not up to the task of holding the weight of the vehicle, and with a big 440ci hemi up front we had to come up with a better solution. We cut out all the old upper. We designed, CNC laser cut and fabricated these new upper coilover mounts that locate the factory upper control arms. We grafted this into the lower section, all 6mm steel now. Clearance was tight but we managed to squeeze the strange double adjustable coilover in there and have upper control arm clearance. This one was a challenge due to limited space, but we worked though the issues with this one off design. We were able to get the new strange double adjustable coilovers to fit inside the original rear shock towers with some adaptors to bolt in the factory location. Post 2 of 3. Thank you to all those who attend my rally from Reading to the Cotswolds yesterday, taking in 60 miles of the finest driving roads in the area. The 35 cars started at Cobbs Farm Shop at Englefield near Reading, and first stopped at Leckhampstead Village Hall (that I had hired for our stopover), and then onto Mollie’s Motel & Diner Oxfordshire. After coffee and pastries, we moved onto The Classic Motor Hub’s new storage facility on the A40 near Burford, before arriving at The Classic Motor Hub’s main premises near Bibury, where we all enjoyed delicious food in the cafe before commencing our journeys home. Post 1 of 3. Thank you to all those who attend my rally from Reading to the Cotswolds yesterday, taking in 60 miles of the finest driving roads in the area. The 35 cars started at Cobbs Farm Shop at Englefield near Reading, and first stopped at Leckhampstead Village Hall (that I had hired for our stopover), and then onto Mollie’s Motel & Diner Oxfordshire. After coffee and pastries, we moved onto The Classic Motor Hub’s new storage facility on the A40 near Burford, before arriving at The Classic Motor Hub’s main premises near Bibury, where we all enjoyed delicious food in the cafe before commencing our journeys home. A classic British grand tourer, which has undergone a five-year ‘restomod’ process. It is powered by a naturally aspirated 7.2-litre V8, delivering around 315hp to the rear wheels through a replacement three-speed automatic transmission and torque converter. Following an older respray 15 years prior, this 1973 Interceptor was discovered in a shed in Guernsey, and subsequently ‘resto modded’ over five years. The process was documented in a five-page magazine feature, and the car was affectionately nicknamed ‘Jennifer’. The Stilton Cheese Car Run 2024. 🧀🏁 One of my favourite mornings of the year is arriving bright and early to welcome the classic cars to Uppingham’s Market Place for another year, before the continue the route of the run through Rutland, Leicestershire and Cambridgeshire. 🔎 THE HISTORY: In the 1700s, the housekeeper at Quenby Hall, Leicestershire was making blue cheese. Her daughter married the innkeeper of The Bell Inn in Stilton and she often brought some cheese with her. The inn started selling it to visitor on the Great North Road (now known as the A1) from London to York, kicking off a 300-year tradition. They used to deliver the cheese by horse-drawn carriage, stopping off at Billesdon, Skeffington, East Norton, Allexton, Wardley, Uppingham, Seaton, Harringworth, Bulwick, Southwick, Oundle and Lutton along the way.
