✨As I finish up my last client of the day, I’m reflecting on the last year & 3 months of my career! The first year was not what I expected with losing my bestie dog 3 months after launching my business, it really struck me down. I did my best to keep on the ground runnin’ but it wasn’t what I envisioned, that’s for sure. ✨SO, I told myself that my 2024 year was going to be the year I really drove force to healing within, becoming the best version of me & hitting my goal of 30 weddings for my 2024 season!!!💥💓🎀💄 ✨Well in February I started my self care, grief healing, human psychology understanding & learning journey from an amazing therapist which has given me SO much healing, growth & insight not only on myself but others & the relationships in my life, in such a short amount of time.. & with that queens, I’m 2 months into my wedding season & I’ve got a few brides about to sign contracts that will take me over my 30 wedding mark GOAL for 2024! It’s only MAY! ✨I’m just so thrilled! & mostly just so very thankful for all your support! My marketing & advertising is only on social media & word of mouth! I’m learning everyday & becoming the best of me in my career of styling hair & doing makeup which makes it that much more exciting!! Monday Musings. Stepping into the "studio". It feels a little like a fawn learning to walk. Mom births new life, and on shaky legs, the little one begins to take their first wobbly steps. Life awaits and the journey begins- step by preciously delicate step. But. Unlike this newborn fawn, I have walked this journey before. I have held brushes in my hand, felt strokes on canvas, and built layered textures. I have captured moments in color and feelings through lines. I have pondered, painted, and pursued life itself upon a canvas outstretched. And yet. It still feels a little wobbly. Perhaps, it is not having a dedicated room to close off all else and paint away. Perhaps, it is the time that seems too small or too incomplete to accomplish the the blending of paint as though blending the minutes of the very life I want to capture. Or perhaps, it is neither of these things. However. What I do know is this. I am living life. Here. Right now. My sweet boy chases my feet with his hands as I dab, smooth, and press the paint into the naturally vacant spaces on the canvas. I pray. I paint. I hold onto... All that God has given to me. My son. My family. My season. My craft. My faith. My many many blessings in this awkward season of learning to walk, I mean, create consistently once again. And I suppose that is what I am here for. To create art and foster a space where life is deeply felt and thoughtfully expressed. I am confident God will meet me here within each stroke, within each decision, within each prayer.
