Well, I've gone and done it. I've started releasing a story I've been thinking about in a setting called The Magic Guild. The premise is that cheesy stage magic is actually a cover for ancient "real" magic, and that the assistants and innocent bystanders sometimes experience permanent transformations. This serial novel is called Inside Laramie's Head, and it's about an assistant rendered headless in a sideshow mishap. She finds herself in a Las Vegas recovery home where her senses are restored with help from technomagic. Lidia liked to search for treasures in antique shops. One day, she found a strange ceramic vase. Without hesitation, she bought it and took it home. While cleaning it, she felt a vibration and a voice spoke to her from inside. “Greetings, I am a magical vase and I have a wish to fulfill you, but I warn you that I am not infallible and sometimes I have to look for unconventional ways to fulfill wishes.” Lidia thought about her biggest dream and said: “I want to extend my life as long as I want.” The vase shook and a thick cloud emerged from its lid that covered Lidia and made her fall into a deep sleep. When she woke up, she discovered that her head was installed on the vase, and on her neck, on her body, was the lid of the vase. “What happened, what is this?” Lidia's head exclaimed. The vase responded: “Your head will always remain young on the vase, and when your body grows old and you want to change it for a younger one, you only have to wish it so that the lid of the vase is installed on the new body and you can control it as “if it were yours” “ Lidia discovered that her body responded docilely to her head's commands, so, from that day on, Lidia had to learn to live her normal life, carrying the vase from which her head controlled her body, and looking for new bodies to occupy them when her body bored her. #headlesswoman #headless
