I'm working on my paint sprayer at the moment, really excited for how it's coming along. It's a really important part of my load out because my OC's backstory involves my first run in with the Empire as a young upstart defacing Imperial propaganda. It's something Maddox carries, these days, as a memento rather than something he uses often though it definitely comes in handy for blinding probe droids without attracting too much attention. It's an object that marks his beginning and now a reminder. It felt really strange making an Imperial propaganda poster just to then add layers of Rebel graffiti over top. 🤣 #WIPwednesday #starwarsposter Excerpt of my backstory: "His disdain for the Empire never wained so as a teen he was an upstart who defaced Imperial propaganda and replaced it with anti-imperial messages. He was quite prolific and his exploits would draw the attention of a budding Rebellion." Imp Hunter alternate load out. Light and nimble. I talked about this on the pod @off.the.rack.rebellion where I wanted to show the base layers of my costumes a bit more. A lot of times, for the more involved ones like my Imp Hunter, I'll then take all my armor off and go about my day in my base. I think of it as that scene of Jango in the prequels. Everyone has to have a downtime look, and more likely than not, it's when all the battle gear gets striped away. So I took a couple of belts off, off with the flak, helmet stored, and all blaster out away, and here's the base for lounging around on my ship during long jumps. Powered down my ship to avoid detection. I think I got far enough out on the outer rim to plan my next move. Will have to ditch anything recognizable so I'm not spotted by probe droids sweeping any outer rim planets. Thankfully, I have friendlies out here who have offered somewhere I can lay low for a while. (Photoshop's generative fill is pretty fun! It's not great, and it takes some fiddling but defo fun.)

#onescavengerschallenge "live action" I think it's time I shared a very real (read: not real) story of 3 times I was cut out of a Star Wars show or film. The first being The Force Awakens, then The Rise of Skywalker, and lastly, a cameo in Andor. So when the gang first get to Maz's Castle, Han was supposed to ask where Maz was, and I was going to come out. There was a scrubbed b plot that someone was trying to kill Maz, and she was using a decoy. I was to then lead them to the real Maz. This was completely deleted even from the behind the scenes stuff. No one even talks about it. On Rise, I knew something was amiss when every time I was on screen with Poe and Finn, one of them would say, "You go on ahead. We'll be right behind you." So I would walk off screen, delivering the lines I was told to deliver, and they would stay there for a while. It wasn't until much later that I realized I wasn't mic'd, and not a single camera was pointed at me. I also then realized I was never there. The third time this happened to me was on the set of Andor. It was a scene, cut for pacing, set on Niamos. Before being arrested, I was to have a frank conversation with Cassian about not ever going to Scarif. He expressed interest in seeing the planet, and I sternly warned him something in my gut told me it was a bad idea. In retrospect, this was rightfully cut as it doesn't make much sense to have this conversation with him at this moment, and the fact I was never actually there also plays a big part. There you have it. 3 times I was justifiably cut out of Star Wars projects... mostly because I was never in them. Thanks! Here is Drio Faire 2.0 for my #wipwednesday post lol Very quickly thrown on to get a good idea of what I’m working with. New pants, boots haven’t shown up but I went with boots 1 that everyone picked in my last poll and new belt and chest rig. Using same top and I really love the tan poncho so I’m sticking with that but ill rotate the green one if the weather isn’t warmer (like any outside photos or cons during the cold season) The leather is already weathered but the buckles and white fabric isn’t? So I’ll be weathering it and just a little on the poncho and maaaayyybeee the clothing(?) I know it’s kinda weird but I don’t want to completely weather Drio’s look. She’s new to most everything including her gear. (TL:dr she has amnesia and doesn’t know her past and is adopted by crazy cat lady (who is actually very kind) and so her stuff was all bought new) Belt/holster is wonderful and the quality on the chest rig is also wonderful but the issue I run into every single time is my chest will change the look of everything 😖 I don’t really like how it’s under and slightly cupping my chest. I may order a new rig and sell this one but I wanted it for a photoshoot thing may 4th Belt/holster is also nice. I don’t have a blaster that fits unfortunately so it will be a scramble to get something for this shoot but I know I’ll be able to get something eventually. Same with any sort of cartridge to put in the straps. I’ll have to get crafty lol I’d still love to do an actual winter outfit and a fancy outfit for maybe an undercover mission lol Drio 1.0 is more of her home on Lothal look Drio 2.0 is the out on missions/travel not on home world. Cropped jacket progress for #WIPwednesday If you zoom in, you can see the stitch work is not super pretty but totally unnoticeable. Patting myself on the back for this tricky handwork. First ever. And it's not my usual finish as everything else I've made was on a machine, but I'm happy with this. Still some work to do. One thing I will stress is save those cutoffs! With the long bit I cut off the bottom of the shirt, I might make an angled lapel piece to add more detail. I also have some webbing stashed away in this color, so I could also add details to cover button holes on the chest pockets. The cutoff from the collar is a great size and shape for another project I have in mind, so I saved that, too. It's for a hat thing. Stay tuned!

Quest complete! I’ve been trying to track down the exact model of glasses that the fantastic @OmidAbtahi wore in his compelling portrayal of the tragic Dr Penn Pershing character. As a guy that needs to wear prescription glasses, I’ve always had to compromise authenticity to incorporate them into my cosplay somehow so I was keen to find screen accurate model frames for my Nerf Rancher OC. After a bunch of dead ends and sort-of-close matches, I screen matched Pershing’s glasses to vintage Willson Safety Glasses, Type F350 B-Bridge, Super Tough Lens. I found the less expensive clear lens version in good condition on eBay (the green tinted version is more screen accurate but also more expensive and harder to find in good condition). Then I worked closely with the awesome team at @LookOptometry to determine if they could accommodate my strong prescription and their lab did an amazing job getting as close as possible to the original tint. I couldn’t be happier with the results! The prop team on the Mandalorian removed the mesh protection from the sides of the frame for a more elegant look but since my character is a bit more rugged, I decided to keep them for a little differentiation. I may even modify them to look more like Tech’s goggles. I've found myself more and more drawn to the look of the "background market person." While it's great to dress like a hero, I'm also super interested in fully blending in. Not only because my main inspiration always has a tinge of surveillance and espionage but also because of all the draping and texture. It's such an open and interpretive sandbox to play in, and lately, I've found myself acquiring more pieces that fit this aesthetic. The Acolyte trailer showed another great crop of this aesthetic. My OC's backstory includes a description of his "home" ship, The Atelier." It's a heavily modified Corellian G9 Rigger-class light freighter with a Lando-esque closet filled with changes, disguises, and weapons from all factions to help him blend in. Slide 1: Not much to report on this #WIPwednesday except that I got both sleeves done on this jacket. Testing some stuff out on this one. Lots more to go. It's going okay. How are you doing? Slide 2: I just received a can of Dirty Down. Hopefully, this will help with larger areas of weathering on a number of my soft goods. Will report my findings when I can spray up again. Rebel in burgundy and blue. As always, I try to think about different scenarios when pulling from my closet in hopes to one day make it a full cosplay version. I believe in characters having changes of clothes! Anyway, I was thinking about what happens when the leader of a "technically" unsactioned cell of Rebel spy operatives gets called in to Alliance High Command to answer for some of his squadron's movements? So this is a "formal" look for someone who is not very used to being in a formal setting. #wipwednesday Progress update on my remnant TK. This came in a box full of goodies from @icknaybob. It spent about five months sitting in my garage collecting dust while I finished other projects. In December I started to sand. Rounds of primer and sanding over and over. Then, repairing two large cracks by using fiberglass for the first time. Big Ick! After that was cured and sanded down I primed it with acrylic airbrush paint and then had a crisis of faith over whether it was adhering! I decided either way to glaze it and now it is one shiny boi!
