After Shannen's house is emptied, the FBI agents take her on a stake out where they magically know where the assailants are hanging out. The FBI budget must be tight because they only have one set of binoculars, which they give to the only civilian in the car. First we see that Badger (stalker and Nick Angel murderer) and plexiglass guy are pals. Then we see that assistant Casey is alive and well! And then we get the cherry on the scam sundae: Nick Angel is also alive and well - he's so well that he's making out with Casey! Dun duunn duuuuunnnnn! FBI peeps take Shannen back to her house and show her that the bulletproof glass she had installed is just regular glass that easily breaks when you hit it with a stick (cue sad trombone). Sad Shannen realizes everyone was in on the scam to steal her window money and furniture. While Shannen and Badger (who we now know is her stalker in addition to being the man she's hired to kill her stalker) are each driving to the house she rented, bodyguard Nick Angel snoops around Badger's apartment and realizes he's the stalker. So Nick drives to the house to save Shannen. Badger previously told Shannen that if Nick shows up, he'll kill them both. True to his word, Badger shoots Nick upon arrival. RIP dude. Shannen manages to negotiate not getting murdered, and Badger tells her to go check into a hotel, get rid of her bloody clothes, and he'll call her in 3 days after he disposes of Nick's body. So now we've circled back to the beginning of the movie where Shannen is telling her tale to the FBI agents. They drive her from the motel to her house ... where we discover that even though she's only been gone a few hours (instead of the 3 days that she was told to stay away), everything has been stolen from her house. Sure enough, after Bubble Yum the stalker delivers the pizza, Casey the assistant is nowhere to be found when Shannen returns home to her now bulletproof compound. Shannen calls the cops, and world's laziest cop returns to do absolutely nothing. The next day, Shannen is sent photos of Casey bound and gagged and possibly dead. Shannen feels hopeless, so she contacts the creepiest person she's met, Badger (the ex-con who got fired from working at her house), and agrees to pay him $150K if he can hunt down her stalker and kill him. Badger agrees and tells her to rent a house in the middle of nowhere and then Bubble Yum will follow her and then Badger can do his murdering. He also tells her that if that no good Nick Angel shows up, he'll murder her and Nick. Later, Shannen calls him with an address for the house she rented. Nick Angel has researched Shannen and mansplains her story to her, while also roasting her. Basically, Shannen is incredibly wealthy from her paparazzi shenanigans and also isolated. Fun combo! Nick Angel says her giant house needs to be more secure, so he takes her to a guy who sells special glass. Nick pulls out a handgun and shoots the glass (no one seems bothered by this or what must have been a very loud noise) at close range to show that it's bulletproof. Now we travel back in time from the motel room interrogation and learn how Shannen came to be in whatever mysterious predicament she's in. She freaks out and grabs the nearest weapon, a tennis racket, so she can Pete Sampras some intruder's ass and walks through the house, but there's no one there--except for Shaggy the stalker she can't see who's watching her through his camera.
