From the instalation process of Magion 2021. Site specific group of sculptures was installend into an open landscape (forrest) to create some magic in ordinary lives. StoneMason ArtWorks was supervising this whole thing, and also supplied most of the sculptures. Hand made on Castle Pecka, than moved into the open land. Scream monster (Hejkal) by Vít Ryška. Traditional czech forest yokai that screams and makes horrible sounds. Valley of the Giants. It was scary AF to do the walk amongst this valley!! I absolutely hate heights, and what was a small walk felt like a million of kms long. Something interesting is how they built the pathway to walk on, they had to make it flexible enough so that it extra sturdy since each platform is very high up. This meant that every bit of it shook a little. Imagine being scared of heights while walking on a trembling path - not so much fun! ‘Curiosity’ detail shots 💫 . This painting is allll about the details. To be completely honest, I agonise over my paintings so much that I never feel truely satisisyed when looking back at them. But this painting is different, and I truely love all parts of it (still! 🫢). . In high school, I drew animals exclusively. Mainly big cats - tigers, cheetahs, ect. This piece felt like a walk back through time, and I remembered the joy I would feel of capturing the personality of a beautifully mysterious animal. And the difficulty in getting the proportions right 🥴 (I went for a more stylised look this time so that helped). I stopped the daily drawing when I started uni, and then I started backpacking across Europe and North America for a few years, and art took a back seat. . Fast forward back to today, and although life is extremely busy, art is forefront on my list of priorities. I’m learning and improving with every piece I do, and this piece gave me the confidence that something is going right in my progression 💃🏼.

It feels good to finally have my cute Lil Amanita in a frame hanging where I sit drinking my coffee every morning. I painted this back in May 2023 to test out my new #holbeingouache paint. I will eventually give it to my daughter, who loves shroomie art, but for now, it feels good to stare at it and think of the journey I went through to make it. I bought this frame at an estate sale of my former neighbor's at our previous house. She was a sweet little older lady who loved all the flowers I had, and she also loved watching my kids grow up. She ubruptly moved for a new job, and we never got to say bye, which always made me a little sad. I'd like to think she'd appreciate how I fixed up her frame, which originally held an old picture of someone in a formal dress.
