About the notebook: I am not in the least an expert on traditional Chinese medicine, and cannot read Chinese, but I am a devoted seeker of folk drawings, and think these are pretty marvelous! Detailed, often in wonderfully dramatic fashion, seem to be various bodily concerns or ailments and, I believe, the acupuncture points on the body relating to them, with text likely naming and detailing the issues and naming the points, meridians, etc. >>Bidding starts at $100, proceeding in $25 increments. The same year Union balloons were flying over Richmond as part of the “Seven Days Campaign,” which our John Johnston likely observed first hand.
