Hello loves, How are we all? 🩷 Been a little while since I’ve introduced myself…and as we are ever evolving and ever changing it’s always nice to do so and reflect on how I’m showing up on these squares I’m Bekah, I’m a Clinical Psychologist, feminist and artist. Sometimes I have pink hair and I LOVE leopard print (yes I’m also a millennial! 😂) I’ve been building The Feminist Therapy Centre business over the past 4 years in between birthing and raising my babies. More recently I became a director of @thepsychologycooperative with the wonderful @mumologist with our aim to provide more free and low cost access to therapy and therapeutic interventions. We’re currently running a year long project called ‘unfurl’ - helping you thinking about how to find space and safety to rest and unfurl 🍃 Lately, I have found myself questioning how we rebel against and dismantle systems of oppression whilst we also find ourselves trying to survive in them? The topic of my in-the-pipe-line podcast for 2024! There are some incredible people doing this in incredible ways and I can’t wait to chat to them about how they do this, how this has impacted on their mental health and well-being, as well as the systemic oppression they’ve had to overcome AND the privileges that have eased this process for them. Along the lines of challenging systems whilst being stuck in them, later next month I will be launching The Feminist Therapy Centre’s signature course ‘Becoming Conscious’ which aims to help those of us socialised as women find freedom from the patriarchal narratives we are raised to adhere to and to instead uncover who we are and what we want underneath the layers of bullshit we’ve been taught! 🙌 My youngest has just turned two years old and I find my energy and space coming back a little bit to me.
