Road Trip: Day 2, part 3. We’re still crossing the state of Nevada on the historic Highway 50. We stopped in Austin and Eureka. Both little cute towns but Eureka had some crazy MFs there. I went into this cafe for some coffee. A bar was attached to it. These two women were bragging about some fight they had the prior night at the bar. Then, this man with a family in the cafe was blurring out racial slurs. He said the n-word a few times and a black man was sitting at the bar too. Other families were there as well with kids. We hit the hell out of Dodge. Sin entrar al hotel, até La Torda en el palenque del bar del pueblo y acomodé mis calzas de ciclista en la barra, entre cowboys de película y riders de pocas pulgas. Pedí una beer intentando pasar desapercibido y me dediqué un rato a fotografiar a los parroquianos con disimulo y cierto asombro. Con la tarea realizada, pagué y salí. While these people were flooding in Eureka High School, the Sentinel Museum Building, the Eureka Courthouse, the Colonnade Hotel, and the Opera House were all built. The riches ran out and Eureka turned into a historic remote town, the people left but most of these buildings and old downtown still stand as part of Nevada history. ■ During the time, this 1950 bunkhouse was built. It was ran as a bunkhouse with no amenities but slowly became an abandoned house. Who said shade annuals aren’t beautiful! Before and after of some shade garden annuals. While full flowering plants are gorgeous- I am starting to love unique foliage plants and the textures and peaceful elements they bring. These plants are on the North side of my house and get a little bit of sun first thing in the morning and very late in the afternoon. The best part is no weekly fertilizing!! I put slow release fertilizer in the soil when I planted them June 13th and they are on drip irrigation. The after was taken August 29th.
