There's something magical about the Old Monterey Inn ✨ 🌳 This stunning bed and breakfast is just a few blocks from downtown Monterey, but with its enchanting surrounding grounds, you feel like you're in the middle of a fairytale! 🐦 Each guestroom has its own unique flair and story. This site in San Francisco took my breath away! 👇 📍 The Palace of Fine Arts instantly became my favorite spot in the city. This gorgeous Roman structure feels out of place in a bustling city. It was actually built in 1915 for the Panama-Pacific Exhibition (a World's Fair sort of thing) and is now open to the public. The size, architecture, and place on the water make this place so impressive, it's almost overwhelming. But the area is also peaceful and serene - the perfect oasis away from the San Fran traffic and noise. You'll want to wander the stunning grounds for hours. I definitely did! I also learned that the outdoor space along with the building behind it can be rented out for weddings and events! How dreamy would a wedding here be?? Have you been to the Palace of Fine Arts? ✨1 DAY SAN FRAN ITINERARY ✨⬇️⬇️⬇️ 🚃 Cable car ride to the coastline (aka the greatest mode of transportation) 🍫 Ghirardelli Square 🌉 Take pictures with the Golden Gate Bridge in the Presidio 🎥 The Walt Disney Family Museum 🎨 Palace of Fine Arts (my personal fave!!) 🛥️ Ferry boat tour of the bay 🦀 Seafood dinner at Pier 39 (Bubba Gump's is always a win) 🌸 Lombard Street (the crookedest street in the world) Pro tip: rent an ebike or electric scooter to get around! You'll save so much time and won't have to walk up and down tons of hills. **I really recommend an ebike (not a regular bike!) because the hills are no joke and the electric scooter even has a hard time going up them. ALSO the Presidio is off limits for scooter parking, so if you want to explore that area, you can't end your ride. One thing I didn't have time for that many people told me was incredible is an Alcatraz tour! It's a good 2-4 hour investment, but it's totally worth it! Being in your twenties can be very lonely, but it doesn't always have to be! SAVE for your trip to Monterey Bay! 🌊🪼🦦🐋 This was my FAVORITE activity in Monterey and here's why: 🛶 Practicing or learning a new skill! I've kayaked before so this was great practice, but this adventure is good for beginners too! 🖇️ Meeting new people! Our little group was so fun and came from all over - I was the only American there! One family was from the UK and they came back for this tour specifically because they loved it so much. 🦦 Up close with animals! We saw all the animals that I had heard about and seen in the aquarium in the wild! Sea lions, otters, pelicans, cormorants, and even WHALES! Our guide told us that in all the years he's been guiding this tour, he's seen whales less than ten times. We were so lucky and the whales were so magical! Some tips for making the most of this experience: 🗓️ Book online in advance, especially for weekends 👙 Wear clothes you don't mind getting wet or a swimsuit. Wetsuits, splash jackets, and life jackets are provided to help you stay warm and safe. 🌅 Book an early morning appointment! This is when the animals are most active and there's less fog in the bay (which typically rolls in during the afternoon). I went at 9 am and it was gorgeous! 🛶 Book with montereybaykayaks ! Their location is right on the water, they provide you with the gear you need, and the guides are passionate and knowledgeable. This site in San Francisco took my breath away! 👇 📍 The Palace of Fine Arts instantly became my favorite spot in the city. This gorgeous Roman structure feels out of place in a bustling city. It was actually built in 1915 for the Panama-Pacific Exhibition (a World's Fair sort of thing) and is now open to the public. The size, architecture, and place on the water make this place so impressive, it's almost overwhelming. But the area is also peaceful and serene - the perfect oasis away from the San Fran traffic and noise. You'll want to wander the stunning grounds for hours. I definitely did! I also learned that the outdoor space along with the building behind it can be rented out for weddings and events! How dreamy would a wedding here be?? Have you been to the Palace of Fine Arts? ✨1 DAY SAN FRAN ITINERARY ✨⬇️⬇️⬇️ 🚃 Cable car ride to the coastline (aka the greatest mode of transportation) 🍫 Ghirardelli Square 🌉 Take pictures with the Golden Gate Bridge in the Presidio 🎥 The Walt Disney Family Museum 🎨 Palace of Fine Arts (my personal fave!!) 🛥️ Ferry boat tour of the bay 🦀 Seafood dinner at Pier 39 (Bubba Gump's is always a win) 🌸 Lombard Street (the crookedest street in the world) Pro tip: rent an ebike or electric scooter to get around! You'll save so much time and won't have to walk up and down tons of hills. **I really recommend an ebike (not a regular bike!) because the hills are no joke and the electric scooter even has a hard time going up them. ALSO the Presidio is off limits for scooter parking, so if you want to explore that area, you can't end your ride. One thing I didn't have time for that many people told me was incredible is an Alcatraz tour! It's a good 2-4 hour investment, but it's totally worth it! SAVE for your trip to Monterey Bay! 🌊🪼🦦🐋 This was my FAVORITE activity in Monterey and here's why: 🛶 Practicing or learning a new skill! I've kayaked before so this was great practice, but this adventure is good for beginners too! 🖇️ Meeting new people! Our little group was so fun and came from all over - I was the only American there! One family was from the UK and they came back for this tour specifically because they loved it so much. 🦦 Up close with animals! We saw all the animals that I had heard about and seen in the aquarium in the wild! Sea lions, otters, pelicans, cormorants, and even WHALES! Our guide told us that in all the years he's been guiding this tour, he's seen whales less than ten times. We were so lucky and the whales were so magical! Some tips for making the most of this experience: 🗓️ Book online in advance, especially for weekends 👙 Wear clothes you don't mind getting wet or a swimsuit. Wetsuits, splash jackets, and life jackets are provided to help you stay warm and safe. 🌅 Book an early morning appointment! This is when the animals are most active and there's less fog in the bay (which typically rolls in during the afternoon). I went at 9 am and it was gorgeous! 🛶 Book with montereybaykayaks ! Their location is right on the water, they provide you with the gear you need, and the guides are passionate and knowledgeable. This site in San Francisco took my breath away! 👇 📍 The Palace of Fine Arts instantly became my favorite spot in the city. This gorgeous Roman structure feels out of place in a bustling city. It was actually built in 1915 for the Panama-Pacific Exhibition (a World's Fair sort of thing) and is now open to the public. The size, architecture, and place on the water make this place so impressive, it's almost overwhelming. But the area is also peaceful and serene - the perfect oasis away from the San Fran traffic and noise. You'll want to wander the stunning grounds for hours. I definitely did! I also learned that the outdoor space along with the building behind it can be rented out for weddings and events! How dreamy would a wedding here be?? Have you been to the Palace of Fine Arts?
