Delayed post but went to @mr.wongsydney a few weeks ago! Apologies for the half eaten pictures I was too excited to try the food!! We ordered: Peking duck pancakes (gf options is lettuce cups), Mr Wongs special fried rice (pork wasn’t gf so had it just with prawns) and Hong Kong style rice noodles! Staff were very coeliac aware and made sure to explain what I could/couldn’t eat and what could be substituted. We then went for drinks at @thecaterpillarclubsydney and loved it, such a fun venue! Was a fun date night in the city!

📍 @flatironsteak , Leeds. I visited here last week to celebrate a birthday! I asked for an allergen menu and knew what I could and couldn’t have so easily! This was also sooo well priced for a group of 7! They brought over popcorn to share to start, our main orders came so fast! At the end they give everyone on the table a little token of their logo, to hand in for a free ice cream! They didn’t offer gluten free cones but they did offer a cup option!🫶🏼 For the ‘Flat Iron’ steak it was £14 each, sides ranged from £4-6 and I treated myself to a glass of rose wine for £6-8! I don’t want to waste them and open them all to try, so I will started the next one when I’ve finished this one! I’m also going away next week with my family, and some of them are vegan and I know they’ll want to try them as not only are these cereals GF, they’re vegan too! 👏🏼 Anyywaayy, my honest opinion… delicious! Novas been glutened 😭 again! This is the third time since Nova got diagnosed (just over a year ago) that he's been glutened 😭💔 and everytime he seems to get a worse reaction. This was a stupid mistake on my behalf, I allowed some gluten American biscuits in the house as they are a favourite and you can't get them in the UK. My daughter had one and then played Novas switch and didn't wash her hands, Nova then played his switch and then used his hands to eat some yoghurt raisins and I believe this was the cause. I'm not 100% but I cannot think of any other possibility 🤷 He was laughing and playing and then we took a drive to tesco and he told me in the car he had a belly ache and within seconds he was vomiting all in the car 🤮 we got home and he was straight on the toilet 💩 and then straight asleep in bed. Now feeling like the worst mum 😭 just shows how serious cross contamination is! I didn’t have high hopes for these - they were a substitution for my usual M&S soft white rolls and they look a bit too healthy to be delicious. But once I’d managed to get them apart, covered my kitchen in seeds and filled them with a ton of mayonnaise, I was actually quite impressed. My gluten eating husband quite enjoyed them too! 5/10 ☺️

These are ideal treats if you are following @slimmingworld thanks to one of my friends who is still on the plan I get these every now and again to mix up my treats. It’s not hard to be on slimming world with coeliac disease but I struggled massively with the group when it came to needing advise and support! No one else in my group was coeliac nor did the leader have any knowledge on coeliac disease - I feel a big set back when you pay for the support of group. Having my biggest weight loss one week because I ate gluten so threw up for 24 hours does not suggest a good weight loss plan - much to the leaders delight in my loss! Delicious pizza on a thin crispy base. 👩🍳 My pizza was prepared in a seperate area in a seperate oven. 💲 22 p/p medium pizza 😍 Prosciutto and rocket (pictured) also have pastas and risotto which I’ll try next time!

🧡 Turns out I totally missed Coeliac Disease Awareness Day yesterday, but you did all engage with my crunchie blast ice cream so 🤷🏼♀️🤣 🧡 I’ve loved hearing everyone’s #CoeliacStories and realised I’ve never really shared mine, so here goes… 🧡 One day I woke up with horrific acid reflux, after never having had it in my life, and I couldn’t shift it, even with a high dose of meds. I was referred for an endoscopy so they could have a look to see if they could tell what was causing it. 🧡 There was nothing obvious causing my reflux, but they did spot some signs I may be coeliac, so they took some biopsies and guess what… I was. 🧡 I then had to have this confirmed with a blood test, which felt very backwards (I compared it to having a scan and seeing you’re pregnant, but still having to pee on a stick to confirm it 🤣) 🧡 Once I knew I was coeliac, a lot of problems I’d been having for years made a lot more sense, like really low iron, bloating, and some other issues that I’m sure you can guess (💩👀). I found it really frustrating that all the times I’d been to the doctor about my iron levels and 💩 related issues that they’d never put two and two together, so it does make sense to me how the average time to get diagnosed is 13 years which is just CRAZY 🤯 🧡 It’s still a relatively new diagnosis so I’m still adapting to the gluten free life, and trying to get my head around it being forever, which feels quite overwhelming sometimes. @maharajabhogmumbai has genuinely the nicest, most interesting concept. Thali felt like an indulgence. They didn't speak any English, so asking about allergens was out. This was in Oberoi mall. Literally the only 'tourist' there. I love that feeling a little bit closer to what living in a city would be like. Food spoke for itself. They kept wanting to refill. Apparently, it was included. I can't tell you what anything is. It's all vegetarian (I hope). The saffron water/tea was the one!! You'll notice empty bowls, and I had to refuse the stuff clearly, not df and gf. That being said, after google Translate to help out, I had to give up a few other bits.
