I designed a group forms, which I shaped from a set of plans and profiles of temples, ornaments and sacred objects from different regions of the world, transferring these flat patterns to rotational solids. My own ceremonial forms were created, where ceramic elements were combined with metal ones, which I selected in terms of the symmetry axis and belonging to the shapes I was looking for. Based on the art of selected cultures, I tried to "catch" similarities in the creative expression of people. My intention was for my sculptures to become representations of the archetypal image of the sacred form. * Stworzyłam kolekcję form, które ukształtowałem ze zbioru planów i profili świątyń, ornamentów i obiektów sakralnych z różnych regionów świata, przenosząc te płaskie wzory na bryły obrotowe. The earliest sources speak of Inanna - the Lady of Heaven, the most important female figure in the Mesopotamian pantheon. Inanna, Astarte, Aphrodite, Venus are the names she bore in successive eras of the development of Western culture, associated with the planet that bears her name, the heavens and the fertile earth. The prototype of a later image Mary, whose Hebrew nickname is the Queen of Heaven (Latin: regina coelorum), is a divine feminine element in the Christian religion. It is a synthesis of ancient cults appearing in the pantheon of goddesses. She took over the attributes from her predecessors, starting with the title of Queen of Heaven, which was already the name of the Sumerian Inanna or the Roman Cybele. WHENCE THE SUN RISES TO WHERE IT SETS • April — May 2024 The Avenarius Family House 7 Katowicka St., Warsaw • How much are we actually capable of seeing and how far can our eyes reach? Creating a collection is a continuous process—of construction, experiencing, crossing borders, stress testing, going beyond the horizon of what we are told and shown. Ultimately, it is a restitution, preservation and protection as much as a resignation, namely, not wanting and not being able to possess everything. Planning the exhibition, I travelled in a direction opposite to the movement of the Sun, as if to reverse its course. I headed towards the east which personifies my familial place, a place where all had begun. It is a journey leading down the path of learning, reaching all the sources and meaning of life. A temporal context of the emergence of this exhibition may encourage formulating interpretations related to a geo-political significance of the East and West. However, I would like to embed it in a decidedly deeper layer, eluding its topical resonance. I wish to tell a story woven with human thoughts, determining collective emotions, but in a manner that does not lose sight of a singular human being. A strongly feminine symbol, speaking of the cyclical, mysterious, referring to the realm of the senses and subconscious. In ancient Sumerian times, one of the attributes of the goddess Inanna-the queen of the heavens.
