I feel like there’s been a stripping within me. Holy Spirit is in there clearing things out and bringing me back to purpose. His purpose. Which was always my purpose too because I’ve always, as far back as a I can remember as a little girl, just wanted to what God would have me do. But as with most if not all of us, it gets lost along the way and we start looking at what others are doing and thinking… Maybe I should be doing that? Being like that? Oh how far one must wander before they realised they’ve travelled too far in the wrong direction. The beautiful thing about when you realise it, and when you give the drivers seat back to God, is that He will graciously drive you back to where you’re meant to be. With so much grace, even if you are sitting there feeling like a fool and disappointed in yourself for wandering off in search of shiny objects. God’s grace though. OOFT. That’s real love right there. As I’m being stripped of the ways of the world that I put on myself, I can literally feel my ego dissipating. Things “I would never do” because they were “below me”, I am now being pulled towards. So don’t be surprised if all of a sudden I’m now doing something that I once made fun of or looked down at 🤣🤣 God said it’s ok so it’s ok. I haven’t pulled the trigger on a particular thing yet, but I reckon over the weekend it will be done and next week sometime I’ll launch it. “Don’t let the lycras win” One of my friends I do waka ama with had a dream once that her spot in the waka was taken by people wearing all black lycra suits and she was relegated to an inflatable boat by herself. This came up out of fear of course, of not being good enough, and it’s something I can relate to and made a pact with myself that I would never let anyone steam roll me from a place or position I know I worked hard for. So it’s become a bit of a saying now, to not let the lycras win. The lycras I suppose being anything that you allow to get in your way and cut you off from what you know is rightfully yours. I remember in high school during a competition where our team made it to the finals and our teacher asked if I would give up my spot in the finals for another student. The other student wasn’t even in our team, didn’t race at all with our team, and really had no claim to taking my or anyone else’s spot. I said no, and there was no way I was giving up my spot. . . A Safe Place to Live This photo was taken at a recent celebration of our FIRST TEACHER HOUSING building. We are so thankful for everyone who donated to the 2023 Fall Fundraiser to make the construction of this building possible. God bless you! In Uganda, it is common for rural schools to provide housing for their teachers. Our first Teacher Housing Building has 12 rooms. The rooms are dry and secure. Since everyone in the building is part of the ChristAid campus it is a safer place than where some of our teachers were living before. BUT we still have teachers who NEED a safe place to live. Ding ding ding 🛎️ That’s the Holy Spirit ringing the bell at the reception, waiting for you to come to the front desk and answer the call. God is persistent and He’ll continue ringing that bell until you come and answer. Yet, you’re hiding out the back hoping He’ll go away so you can continue living by your own might, striving, worrying, striving again. When if you’d just go and answer the call you’ll realise who it is that’s actually there. I was once a very high functioning A-type hustler winner control freak perfectionist do ALL THE THINGS RIGHT NOW wake up at 5am and bed at 2am busy busy busy every hour of the day. To some extent I still am 👀🤣 And also, I would rather not be. I would rather answer the ding ding ding and have Jesus take the wheel (and then try to not tell Him which way we should go 🤣🤣). The striving is exhausting. Doing all the things is exhausting. Leaning on my own understanding is exhausting (not to mention my understanding is very limited). Being here there and everywhere is exhausting. Perfection is exhausting. We’re tiiiired out here and are seeking peace. Peace is found in abiding in God and Him abiding in you. It’s found in full surrender, broken on the floor admitting that you can no longer go on and that you’re absolutely DONE even trying. Practice humility through admitting to God that you need Him to come in and take over, and you know what? He gladly will. Because He’s been waiting for you to come to the reception and answer the bell He’s been ringing 🛎️🛎️🛎️ Calling to you and trying to get your attention amidst you looking every other way before finally coming to the realisation that no other works. “Create the content I’m telling you to” This was the very clear message God popped into my dream last night. He’s been giving me content ideas almost daily but I’ve not been obeying. I’ve been doing other things instead, and then wondering why things aren’t working. LOL. It felt like a revelation actually, to create the content God is telling me to. Some secret that no one else knows, that somehow I didn’t know, even though… of course… I know. Another message came through via a sermon I listened to “If I can take your passion you won’t be a weapon anymore” this one from Satan. And I realised… UGH. YES. I had allowed Satan to take my passion. My passion for creating. For writing. For speaking. For being me. And had become quiet when God had been calling me to be BOLD. I’d been making up excuses and therefore allowing the enemy a seat at my table. Your passion is closely related to your life force. The thing about content, which I once knew and then forgot and now remembered again 🤣 Is that you’re not just creating for yourself, but you’re creating to serve those who God has called you to! (I’m preaching to myself) The gifts and the wisdom and the knowledge and the very essence of who you are that God has given you, is not for you. It’s to serve others. And how rude of me, how rude of you, to be so selfish in thinking that you have nothing to say, to share, to help people with. You’ve been appointed to your royal position for such a time as this.
