Kittens in de aanbieding! Bij mijn ouders is een poesje komen aanlopen. Ze kreeg wel een erg dik buikje en wat bleek? Ze was ook nog eens zwanger! Op 16 april werden er 3 kittens geboren: 2 zwart-witte en een lapjeskat. Het geslacht weten we nog niet. Mijn ouders hadden al een kat, dus nu hebben ze er opeens 5 😅 hoe schattig ze ook zijn: 5 katten vinden ze wel erg veel! De kittens zijn dus op zoek naar een nieuw huis. Vanaf ongeveer half juni zijn ze oud genoeg om bij hun moeder weg te gaan. Wel lastig want: vakantietijd. Vandaar hier een oproep: wie wil een kitten adopteren? Ben of ken je iemand? Stuur me dan een berichtje! En wil je liever eerst op vakantie dan is dat geen probleem: ze gaan zelf niet weg en vinden het niet erg om wat langer voor ze te zorgen. Another benefit of TNR: this female was trapped today and upon the vets’ assessment it was discovered she had an umbilical hernia. This was fixed during her spay operation. Umbilical hernias occur at birth and can be fatal if left as complications can happen. This female will have a much longer lifespan now she has been treated and spayed! Everyone, meet Lugosi! This little sweetheart is one of the three newborns, the reasons we found and took in Siouxsie the tortie mom & her two babies. She may look like a little raccoon or baby fox, but she’s definitely a kitten- just a very special one! I could be wrong, as I’ve never seen this in person, but I’m 90% sure she has a fever coat. Fever coats are pretty rare, and temporary. They lead to this white overcoat-looking coloring (or generally light-colored) that gets darker towards the root. Fever coats happen when the mama goes through a period of stress or illness while pregnant causing a fever/body temperature rise. It will eventually grow out, in months or a year or so, and their genetic coat color will show. It doesn’t affect their health in any way, it’s just a beautiful anomaly. Grease is approximately 6-8 weeks old, litter trained, and up to date with his vaccines. He is at the age where he is all about playing, discovering, learning, eating and sleeping. Apologies for the lapse! All is well. I’ve been out of town for a couple days-which was a nightmare to accomplish. There are no days off in rescue. These kiddos are Fizzgig & Kira, two of Skeksis’ kids! They look like real kittens now and not weird tiny seals! These two are still available for pre adoption. .
