A lesson for me that despite my love of tea - I don’t love all tea (and actually that’s ok!) In the interests of trying something new having found a large number of Smoky Earl Grey tea bags in my tea caddy I boldly went forth and brewed two piping hot mugs of it for my friend and I. First the colour looked, erm, sub optimal. The smell was peaty, earthy lacking the bergamot scent I love in earl grey. In an attempt to improve the situation I added milk but golly, it made it worse. One sip and I poured it away - reaching instead for my trusty PG Tips for a robust builders brew. (My dear companion had the same reaction so possibly these smoky earl grey tea bag’s will be consigned to a special place of retirement……..)

{Being gentle} It was a sleepless night full of coughs and splutterings, so I'm taking it slow again this morning. A strong cup of tea (everything is tasteless!), plus the latest edition of the @simplethingsmag and Bella for company(well, her tail and backside that is! She refused to say hello!). Small Boy insisted he wanted to watch the sunset. He insisted this at about 4pm when we got in from our swim. Now the sun is actually setting he has decided that is a silly plan when Nintendo Sports can be played indoors, so I’ve come out for a little quiet time with a cup of tea.
