Even my small attempt to sing any of Kishore Kumar or Mohd Rafi tracks during a casual meet or antakshari wd invite criticism. So performing them on stage was out of the question & I usually wd stick to the latest tracks. Then this happened at a competition & v had to do an old track. Yes, I was nervous. I was unsure of the lyrics. I sang however I knew. It was not perfect. I didn't reproduce or try to do the original. I definitely cant sing like Rafi Saab who is phenomenal. But I managed to scrape through I guess. Each of us has a different voice texture, range & sweet spot.
