Este viaje de introspección pasando por todos los meses es una manera de ver todo mi crecimiento, avances, retrocesos, errores, aciertos, complejos, defectos, virtudes, cualidades, aceptar cada una de mis fases, abrazar mi intensidad, reconocer mi subibaja emocional, entender que me hace bien la soledad, que no quiero una relación de pareja, que no quiero vínculos vacíos, amistades por compromiso, antes de eso prefiero estar conmigo y nadie más, porque todavía me falta mucho por sanar y estar bien conmigo. . La forma de hoy, viendo hacia atrás me costaba muchísimo, el solo ver qué tocaba hacerla ya me indisponia, pero ahora lograr sostenerme, cambiando la posición de la mano, por más que no está en su condición más apta fue todo un regalo, y un mensaje claro, debo estar conmigo, porque este año me he hecho demasiada falta, al tratar de encajar en lugares, situaciones, personas donde no me siento del todo cómoda. . Noviembre dulce, me dejó el recibir mi título del que hasta hoy ha sido mi curso más sanador, llevándome la enseñanza de que NO quiero ser bonita, quiero ser fuerte. Fuerte para tomar decisiones. Para poner límites. Para cuidarme. Para decir que no. Para decir ya no más. Fuerte para reconocer mis faltas sin juzgarme tan duro... . Day 22 of #WristList with @cyogalife Alternative by @shiremaclo ➡️ #Vasisthasana variation or #Sideplank variation . Such a great drill which includes a lot of things (motion in the hip, strength in the inner thigh, activation from both sides of the body since we are holding ourselves up from the side). I make sure I didn’t run out of alignment half way … 8 rep was my max at this moment. . . 📝 Find a side plank position on your mat, stack base shoulder over base wrist and hip over hip. Push into the floor to lift yourself up from the side body. You can also do this from your knees if you are not yet ready to have both legs fully extended, so build it from where you are at. Now that we are up, top arm will bend briefly bringing fingertips by the ear, elbow will be pointing up, and now bend the bottom leg at the knee making a half a triangle shape, toes will be pointing to your own base leg ankle. From here, engage your core and inner thigh, rotate at the hip to bring knee up as your elbow rotates down to meet your knee, think pull belly button back so the obliques have room to come meet each other. She's BEYOND inspiring. ------------- Posted @withrepost • @cyogalife ⌚️📝🎳Day 2️⃣6️⃣ of #WristList with @cyogalife ➡️ Funky #Omkarasana 🎳📝⌚️ In the last few days we go a little wilder and, though often these postures take a long time, we can certainly start to plant the seeds for a strong foundation. Because of the ‘boxed’ 📦 shape of many hip openers, they’re very conducive to turn them into arm balances. In this one, once your leg can rest behind the head, is much more stable than you think. Traditionally Omkarasana is passing one leg behind + threading the other + balancing on the 🙌🏻. Let’s take a closer look: ☸️the first step is, from a seated position, send leg behind neck. If you’re close, use a strap to keep foot from flying (class #125: “Deconstrucing Omkarasana” will give you several options and covers the process in depth👍🏻); ☸️lift other leg onto its shoulder, bend knee, externally rotate hip, thread it over one arm and under the other, like a shoelace. Hook toes over armpit (see pic); ☸️from there, it’s time to lift into the #armbalance and you have several options: on your palms, forearms, or 1 hand + 1 forearm, aka the ‘funky’ version, which is the one I chose. The reason for it is that it’s probably the most doable of the 3😉. Plant one forearm and hand (don’t think, let the body decide and you’ll do the same side I’m doing, it’s the most natural one). Tilt forward, hug elbow to side ribs and either press or hop butt up; ☸️as all funky arm balances and inversions, it’ll feel slightly tilted, yet very stable. For those going for extra points, try to lift hand to face. Make sure your center is well anchored or else you’ll start rotating like a ballerina. Since both face and butt are very close to the ground, if you fall, it won’t be painful or scary. Day 2️⃣8️⃣ of #WristList with @cyogalife ➡️ #Valgulasana . Finally catching up till last day of the month and completed another month😃. This month I really feel tired to complete it because it have a lot LBH + arm balance poses which is my weakness. I always try to avoid these poses unless come across it in challenge. . Today pose totally out of reach for me. I still required strap for LBH. Here I only focus on bringing the free leg in diamond shape with foot closer to armpit instead of in front the chest (deeper hips opening). I need to lean on the wall or else I can’t balance at all. Anyhow, I was glad that I can bring my left foot (with more opened left hips) very close to armpit. . . This is what Carmen’s write: 🔍once you’ve warmed up, #practice both ‘leg behind the head’ and ‘foot-into-armpit’ separately. Do 2 tries on each side. It’s time consuming, but necessary; 🔍when you combine both, do the ‘leg behind head’ first, then lift other, bend knee, draw it in to a ‘half diamond’ and balance on sacrum. This is tricky, more difficult to balance than expected. Lean against a wall or place a sandbag behind butt; 🔍on an exhale, use opposite hand to pull foot into armpit. This must be a swift, precise and clean move. ‘Trap’ it, plant palms right in front of hips, tilt forward and, using everything you got (abs, flexors, upper body…) float and balance on hands; 🔍as you keep lifting, it’ll get to a point where Yogidanda foot will have leverage to press into armpit and help you raise hips higher. It’s a huge ‘a-ha’ moment that’ll take your hip openers to a new dimension (and the arm balance to new heights🚀!) 🔍 183: “Hip openers: break down Valgulasana”

Day 2️⃣7️⃣ of #WristList with @cyogalife ➡️ #Wheel or #UrdhvaDhanurasana variant . Toes to head was totally out of reach for me. Just managed to grab the shin instead of kneecap. 💮 Slide3: Enter from drop back & do both side at a go. I was hesitate to lift my left foot up, just kick up without holding. First part of the video was in speed x 3.0. 💮 Slide4: Redo left side, enter from the ground. Finally I managed to get millisecond holding time on my not so good side. . . This is what Carmen’s said: 💮 after doing a couple of Wheels, on the 3rd start to shift weight side-to-side, rocking slightly like a boat⛵️. Notice how, as you gain momentum, your hand, foot (or both), feel very light and you can almost lift them completely. Shift 10-12 times, more if you want. This a most useful drill and, if this all you do, consider that a big success🙌🏻; 💮if the previous drill works, now do the weight shift as slowly as you can, which, as you’ll feel, it’s a lot harder, especially for shoulders and wrists. Mount entirely on 2 limbs and come on fingertips and toes on the other side. Turn base foot, so it’s easier to balance, but don’t walk it too far, or else you won’t touch the head; 💮at this point, I find easier to lift hand, grab kneecap, then raise foot towards crown. Use that bind to lengthen those flexors and give yourself a nice assist. Open chest, keep base arm straight and look down to floor; 💮some people can get to the final stage but the leg is so angled that the foot never touches the head. If that’s your case you need to favor an internal rotation rather than an external one, so kneecap points straight ahead instead of out. Another way of looking at it is leveling or squaring hips more. This is a very active stretch for those flexors, so it’s normal if it doesn’t happen right away. Patience! If needed, come down to rest, then repeat on the other side. Shoulder and base wrist get very loaded (and stretched), and they must take care of the balance while keeping the arch… not easy😅. 💮 197: “Kuntasana & other psoas length…”

This time I keep the usual slightly lesser, I can only keep my shoulders parallel to the floor. Slide 3: video on attempting Shire’s #ChestStretch. I do this pretty often especially I have a very agile shoulder joints. I also like to warm up my joint with internal/external rotation with straight arms. That’s help to stretch chest as well. My shoulders start shaking (not obvious in the video) when I lower down my leg further more and press my feet on the wall to push the chest forward more. . . This is what Gary’s said: To begin, measure your distance to the wall by sitting in a dandasana with your feet pressed flat against the wall. Where your hips are is where your hands will go to start so mark this spot. Stand up, face the wall, plant the hands at the mark, and kick up overhead so that both feet land on the wall (If this is scary, you can get used to the kick up by starting closer to the wall). Once the feet are on the wall, begin to arch the upper back while pressing the hands firmly into the ground. Try to make your collarbone the part of the body farthest forward. The more you arch, the feet will naturally need to slide further down the wall. In this first stage, the backbend is driving the movement and the legs are just following. Once the legs get to a point where they are in a horizontal line with the hips, you can use the feet to press into the wall to deepen the stretch in the shoulders. Day 2️⃣5️⃣ of #WristList with @cyogalife ➡️ #PrasaritaPadottanasanaIII . I tried all the ideas given by Carmen. 📐Slide1&2: Legs open wider, head tucked and rest on ground. Only my big thumbs managed to touch the floor instead of the whole fists. My interlaced hands have the temptation want to loosen up anytime. 📐Slide3&4: Legs open narrower, head barely brush the floor. Still have few more inches for my hands to reach the floor. How nice if there is helper to guide my hands down. 📐Slide1l5&6: Legs open wider, head tuck with strap. I prefer to start with towel/ strap as warm up for first few rounds. I really need it, if not I can’t bring my arms down to touch the floor at all. . . This is what Carmen’s said: 📐if you have a hard time lifting and sending arms over, please use a strap. See it not as a step back, but a shortcut that’ll eventually take you to the main road. I’ve seen many practitioners get stuck here for years… a strap will give you the sensorial awareness, release tension and increase range. Same thing if you need to bend knees because hamstrings are so tight that they prevent arms from lifting; 📐to lower hands closer to floor, you can hold a small ankle weight, or use a wall in front, rest fingers there and keep on opening shoulders. To find the right distance you might need to try a couple of times, but it’s SO worth it… 📐regarding the feet stance, some schools advice to tuck head and rest it on the ground (wider), while others you barely ‘brush’ with crown (narrower). Both have valid points. Day 2️⃣4️⃣ of #WristList with @cyogalife ➡️ #Yogidandasana #WristTaps . 🧚🏼‍♀️Slide1-4: With yoga wheel. Only able to taps without holding. For my not so good side, struggle to barely get two taps before the yogidandasana foot slide down (slide3&4). 🧚🏼‍♀️Slide5-8: Yogidanda + crow. I can’t straighten my wrist taps leg at all after tapping. So I just proceed to do 3 taps. . . This is what Carmen’s said: 🧚🏼‍♀️the first Yogidanda stage is to be able to put your foot in the armpit. The next one is to hold there while extending the arm. That requires an active external rotation, so that sole pushes against triceps and vice versa. The opposing forces will prevent foot from sliding (or will do so much slower); 🧚🏼‍♀️you can enter this from a seated or standing position, whichever opens your hip better (try both if you can). Once foot is tucked, come to a standing forward fold, plant hands shoulder width, hollow belly, engage abs & flexors, straighten arms as much as possible, then float base foot and touch wrist; 🧚🏼‍♀️you can also enter from a Yogidanda + Crow position, then extend Crow leg to do the wrist taps. Once toes find forearm, you’ll have a bit more leverage to raise hips higher and stretch that leg completely; 🧚🏼‍♀️use Yogidanda foot to also give you height when you do the wrist tap (push strongly against arm and notice the strength it brings into hip joint). Day 2️⃣3️⃣ of #WristList with @cyogalife ➡️ #Kapinjalasana . The most challenge part is gaze shift at the end. I tried many times to get some holding time after little gaze shift. My previous attempt on this pose is on Sep2021. That time I entered from DDog where distance between base palm & leg are shorter and easier to balance. . This is what Carmen’s said: 💮the entry that most people have success is from Side Plank, lift back leg, grab foot, flip grip and start pulling it towards head without falling. That’s easier said than done so, if you struggle with your balance, use a small strap first, notice the weight shift along your palm: are you moving shoulders while rotating upper one? Do you lean forward and back? Is upper leg taking you with it? 💮in my experience, many practitioners will say yes to some of those so, the strap and a wall behind (not too close, enough to rest toes on it) will correct and force to make smaller moves. Small moves = small corrections, big moves = falling🧐; 💮pierce the floor with base arm, align shoulder on top and don’t move for any reason, not even to flip the grip. Don’t allow base leg to shift weight too forward, instead, try to curve spine deeper and push chest out; 💮for the final gaze shift, think that your hand and foot are your eyes👁👁. ‘See’ with them, feel balanced and in control.
