LAMBILY SPOTLIGHT 📖✨ Dante DiDomenico is on a mission to be iconic, and he wants to help others achieve the same status through his uplifting and comedic driven content. Based in Toronto, Canada, Dante is a university student passionate about pop culture and personal growth to defy the odds through FLAB-ulous viral posts. When he’s not creating, he’s spinning or shopping for the vinyls, CDs, or cassette tapes of music legends, especially from Mariah Carey. It was released in May 1989 as a charity single to assist those affected by the Hillsborough Disasters, which occurred 35 years ago today. The disaster at Sheffield’s Hillsborough Stadium ultimately resulted in the deaths of 97 Liverpool Football Club after a fatal crowd crush during the FA Cup semi-final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest football clubs. The charity single, a cover of the Gerry and the Pacemakers track, saw the Liverpool artists performing together. It was a hit, going to No.1 in the UK and Ireland and No.45 in Australia. By the time he was nine years-old, he began writing songs that were heavily influenced by his favorite artists, such as Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston. It was, however, the songs of one particular artist that both deeply resonated with him and inspired his future journey as a writer - the one, the only, Mariah Carey. John instantly became a fan of the legendary songstress after the release of her 2005 comeback single, “We Belong Together.” From there, he would grow up listening and learning to Carey’s immensely rich musical catalog, one that is filled with extraordinary vocals and an impressive vocabulary. He has put this knowledge and passion towards his own work, in both his published articles and original song lyrics, which have been entered in both the American Songwriter’s Lyric Contest and the International Songwriting Competition. After receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts Management from SUNY Purchase, John joined THE97 in the summer of 2020, where he has covered new musical releases, celebrity biographies, song anniversaries and more.
