I swear I can play them in time, but I couldn’t hear them met at all since I didn’t have my headphones! But now I know my tendency is to stretch the rest in 1) and to rush a lot in general in 2) (which that I’m sure won’t be the issue at tempo because I’m struggling to even play consistently at that speed let alone rush it). But yes it feels a lot clearer to be able to define the technique properly slowly. Day 102 of #200daysofpractice The first two videos are (drafts) for part of my wind ensemble audition. At first I was thinking not to share these videos and not to help out the competition I was against, but what does it matter. I think it’s way more beneficial for me to help improve the ensemble than to gatekeep info and be in whatever band. So if you have questions, I’ll try to help! 1) this is the snare excerpt (4-4). The biggest issue was that the mf and f dynamics were almost the same on camera so there can definitely be more difference with those, even though the mezzo forte is accented. Sticks: Freer SGNF – General Orchestral Hornwood™ Signature Model Instrument: Pearl Philharmonic 14x6.5 African Mahogany Concert Snare Drum 2) this is the tambourine except (level 7-4). It’s not perfect (I might end up submitting, but I’d rather get a better recording). The two main things that stuck out to me were 1) the diminuendo to the piano on the knee has a little hiccup where there’s a lack of clarity and 2) the triplets against the knee don’t feel the same and clear every time. For example, the first one sounds the worst and least articulate and the second one sounds the best. AMA Supermoto Finale Round: Tucson AZ Didn’t start the weekend off on the best note as you can tell in the second photo here.. 5 laps into Friday practice put a hole right through the cases coming out of the final corner causing me to crash.. thankful for no injuries and a big thanks to Jeff @toxicmotoracing for lending me his bike for the rest of Friday practice, Saturday practice and qualifying and the Sunday races! Round 5: Alcarràs, Spain Qualifying: P22 Race 1: P27 Fast Race: P21 Superfinal: P21 Overall: P23 The 5th round in Spain was definitely one for the books as the track was legendary and the rider level was very high. Learned a lot this weekend and will be able to use this moving forward! Big thanks to @pmateam ! Race 1: It was a tough race as I was doing fairly well until about the midway point where I had a crash by pushing the front before the fast straightaway by trying to carry too much corner speed. Was able to catch up to and get passed two riders and was right behind two more at the finish but just ran out of time. Fast Race: Was off to an interesting start when a few riders collided in front of me causing riders to hit their brakes causing me to run into the back of another rider, luckily I was able to save it and not crash but I was in last place going into turn one. Starting from 30th position I was able to slice my way past quite a few riders in the first lap. In the next few labs I was able to make a few passes putting me in 19th. I was trying to make the pass for 18th when I missed a shift and overshot a corner due to being in neutral and lost 2 positions. I ended up running out of time and ended with a P.21. Superfinal: Turn one was crazy as always, and was able to come out P.21 and stayed there until the end of the race! Up here in Castle Rock, WA for the final TT of the @americanflattrack series in 2023. Unfortunately didn’t get to race as my bike had electrical problems and wouldn’t start. I was looking forward to this race as it was the track where I made my first AFT main last year. We are definitely bummed about it but it’s better than not racing due to injury so I’m thankful we’re leaving in one piece. Got to go out for Practice 1, missed Practice 2 because the bike wouldn’t start, we got it going for Qualifying 1, had trouble getting it to stop art for Qualifying 2 but barely made it out there for it to die on me 2.5 laps in. After that we weren’t able to get it going again so we weren’t able to race. After qualifying and the minimal time I had in the track I was only 0.5 seconds off of the leaders qualifying time which makes me wonder how much closer could I have gotten with that track time I missed out on! Tramatza Sardegna, Italy 🇮🇹 S1GP World Supermoto Championship - Thanks to @pmateam for making Round 2 of S1GP Supermoto World Championship happen! Round 2 here in Sardegna, Italy was an up and down weekend. The weather was crazy as one session on track it would be raining and then next it would be dry and it kept switching every single time we would go on track! I couldn’t get comfortable with the rain due to my crash in the rain at round 1 in Busca and I qualified towards the back which put me way back on the starting line. I Was able to work my way from 28th to 19th in the first race. In race 2 I worked my way from 26th to 23rd and race 3 I worked my way up to 21st with 17th place only finishing 1.5 seconds in front of me making it a very tight finish from 17th-21st! My times kept improving every time on track but the track was very tough to pass on and with a bad qualifying it made it tough to move forward through the field. Ventura, California 🇺🇸 American Flat Track - Tough day on Saturday in Ventura for @americanflattrack as it took me a bit to get used to the bike as it’s a completely opposite riding style that I’ve been learning in Europe. (Europe=Lean Forward to not wheelie then only front brake ; Flat Track=Lean Back for traction then only rear brake)😂 Only 1 second separated 32 riders, by the last chance qualifier I kept getting more and more comfortable where I dropped a few tenths. My fast lap in the Last Chance Qualifier was competitive with the times of the transfer positions to the main!
