It’s TnBeerTuesday! Today I’m telling you about the oldest brewery in Chattanooga, TN @chattanoogabrewco This brewery was open in 1890 and claims to have had the best German-Style beer in the Southeast. Prohibition closed the place down, but almost a century later 2 guys started a new leaf for this brewery. Chattanooga Brewing Company still brews classic style beers along with some specialty ones. They also serve food that is mostly locally sourced. This brewery reminded me of my local brewery Natty Greene’s Brewing Company. Maybe it was the restaurant/ brewery feel, the upstairs area with seating and games or the warehousey decor that Natty Greene’s had before their remodel. I ordered their Chestnut Street Brown that I’d heard about all weekend. This is a Brown Ale coming in at 6.2% abv. It’s named after the street it was created on. It smells nutty and roasty. It’s light, smooth and roasty with some chocolate character. It has a sweetness to it. I know why people in Chattanooga talk about this beer now. I also enjoyed their huge pretzel with beer cheese made with their Faultless Lager and beer mustard. It hit the spot for sure! I brought home a 6 pack of Hill City IPA. This brew sits at 7.2% abv, uses caramel and rye malts and 4 styles of West Coast hops. It smells hoppy and malty with a touch of rye. The drink is light with a lot of bitterness. The rye is present and gives it a nice depth. This one tries to go sweet, but the bitterness kicks back in. If you are in the historic Southside of Chattanooga, this is a place to grab a bite and a pint!

Well TS Fam, it looks like today is going to be the last day of 2020 to enjoy our beautiful patio! We will be open from 12-10pm today with our friends @gonzalez_taqueria_ pumping out some delicious tacos! We have Twinkie roast bags available and our Fire pits are first come, first serve!
