@organectomy - Nail Below Nail Half/half gold and black galaxy off @uniqueleaderrecords First off this is one of the coolest galaxy variants I've seen. Look at that beast. Now the music is what you expect and want from Organectomy. It's still brutal and boy do they show their chops musically, but they created a lot more groove this time around, it translates really well live because of it and after a couple listens (esp with good headphones) it really grabs you and gives you a ton of fun parts to really just jam out to, while still giving you that heaviness and high level playing that sets them apart from the rest of the brutal/slam mix genre. @organectomy - ‘Nail Below Nail’ It finally arrived guys! The old vinyl delay hit pretty hard with this release, but here we are. It pays to be patient as this one turned out really nice. I almost thought it was a straight black color when I pulled out the A/B side 😅. It’s one of those ones where you have to hold up in direct sunlight to see it’s true color. Having the two shades of the dark yellows was a nice touch also I thought. Getting to the actual music, Organectomy brought the groove on their third release ‘Nail Below Nail’. I’ll admit it didn’t hit me as immediately as their previous release, but with multiple listens it definitely stood up on its own. Actually hearing the songs performed live was where they really made sense to me. The title track in particular hits especially hard. All in all, this is another fine slab of slamming death metal that is guaranteed to get the toes a tapping and the head bobbing. Great work lads 👏🙌🔨🔥 PS. First pressing of the band’s third full-length album. Organectomy are one of my favourite bands in this Brutal Death/Slam style and they’ve impressed with their first two records. ‘Nail Below Nail’ continues in the same vein as it’s predecessors with huge-sounding, chunky chromatic slams alongside savagely low growls. This release leans slightly more towards the Deathcore sounds as it makes use of open chugs at certain points in the record and whilst this isn’t usually my sort of thing nowadays, it works for me when woven in between the mostly Death Metal riffing. The production again is really polished which I think suits this kind of style.
