Sometimes you just come across stunning pubs in quiet back streets (other times, like this one you're directed to them by experts😉) The Victoria in Page's Walk is a really classy example of the Truman's branding. The slim, clean, wide font used in the lettering, the pale cream paint job, the tiling and lanterns all mark this out as a premium pub. And that's before you even get through the door. Thankfully it's no museum piece but a fully operational local pub. The till is on a par with that oft-reviewed one at the Palm Tree, and the landlord has been in situ for years. The green banquette seating, the fire place, dark wood and etched glass all no doubt meet the approval of the pub purist. There are careful nods to the pub's royal name as well, a bust of Queen Victoria sits above that till, and there's a print of a Penny Black stamp bearing the monatch's portrait on one wall. Let's not forget though that this is a business. While the pub's beautifully presented, it's the drinks over the bar that keep it open. If you're in Bermondsey, look it up, take a photo but remember to spend some cash whild you're there. Ewald Pierre a endossé ce titre le 30 avril 2022, devenant le 3è chef coutumier du village en succédant à son grand-père et son frère Julien Pierre décédé en octobre 2021. La cérémonie d'intronisation s'est déroulée au village Pierre, sur la commune de Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni. Sa mère l'a revêtu des attibuts de yopoto : un châle, un bracelet, un collier et une coiffe de plumes.
