Our School Transformation Program team hosted a 5-day summer camp from April 22nd to 27th, 2024 in Washim, Maharashtra. It was attended by 273 students from ZPUPS of Ubara Samshuddin, Tamsala, Manoli, Mohja, and Chandas. Parents, teachers, and members of School Management Committee (SMCs) were also delighted to be a part of the camp. Each day of our summer camp began with invigorating Warmup and Yoga Sessions, setting a positive tone for the mornings. Creativity flourished in our Art and Craft Sessions, while Games and Fun Activities kept everyone engaged and energized. The Coin Workshop promoted financial literacy, while workshops on Tiger and Nature Conservation and Kitchen Gardening fostered a deeper connection to the environment. Sports Sessions inspired future athletes, and the Telescope Mela ignited curiosity about the universe. Participants showcased their creativity and sustainability in the Workshop on Best out of Waste. The camp concluded with a Showcase event, exhibiting the incredible projects and activities undertaken throughout the week. We are thrilled to announce the conclusion of the Women Entrepreneurship Program conclave held in Mumbai, in collaboration with Cisco. Aligned with the Government of India's vision of inclusive growth, this program is dedicated to empowering women entrepreneurs from low-income households, enabling them to realize their entrepreneurial dreams and establish micro-enterprises of their own. In partnership with Mahila Arthik Vikas Mahamandal (MAVIM), we've positively impacted 1,712 women entrepreneurs, expanding our support efforts. At the conclave, we were honored to have Smt. Kusum Balsaraf, Project Advisor, MAVIM, Government of Maharashtra, as our keynote speaker. She also inaugurated an exhibition of stalls hosted by women entrepreneurs from the program, showcasing their products. We're elated to share our latest collaboration with the Redington Foundation, where we've been working together to support education at Isha Vidhya Schools in Tamil Nadu. Through our intervention, schools across Nagercoil, Tuticorin, Salem, Dharmapuri, and Coimbatore now have access to digital classrooms and RO water equipment. These schools are beacons of educational excellence, shaping bright futures for their communities. About 60% of students attending these schools will receive scholarships from Isha Education Trust to continue their studies. On March 21st, our Jawhar team hosted a spectacular showcase event, doubling up as a Core Advisory Group meeting! Huge thanks to our partners – @indusind_bank, @hindujafoundation, @lifeathgs Hinduja Realty Ventures Limited. We were honored to have esteemed guests like Ms. Karishma Nair (IAS) and Extension Officer Mr. Sahare. A total of 95 students were recognized for their achievements in arts, sports, and academics. Joined by 30 teachers, 20 principals, and 10 Kendra Pramukhs, the event was buzzing with talent and enthusiasm! In Tiruchengode and Sankari, Namakkal district, Tamil Nadu, 19 amazing volunteers are making waves! With 95% of them being female, they're leading the charge on a transformative initiative promoting wellness for over 2300 students across 19 schools. These passionate volunteers underwent extensive training to tackle holistic student wellness head-on. They are dedicating two days a week for conducting sessions in schools, fostering an environment ripe for academic success and healthy living. With an average age of 27, these volunteers are a diverse group – 63% married, 63% holding bachelor's degrees, and 16% with master's degrees. Their mission? To serve the community by promoting cleanliness, hygiene, and overall well-being among students. Already, three successful wellness sessions have been completed, with volunteers reporting overwhelmingly positive experiences! They've strengthened relationships with school stakeholders and garnered increased community support. But their impact doesn't stop there! We're pleased to announce the successful completion of our teacher capacity-building sessions, a vital aspect of the Saksham BPCL program. Through a one-day face-to-face training in two phases, our educators actively engaged in transformative learning experiences, aiming to enhance teaching effectiveness. The initial phase centered on "Understanding the Effectiveness of Teaching-Learning Materials (TLMs)," where teachers explored the impact of TLMs, innovative teaching practices, and developed strategies for effective integration into their teaching approach. In the subsequent phase, the training focused on "21st Century Schools," addressing the necessity of 21st-century teaching in classrooms. Teachers gained insights into 21st-century skills, emphasizing the 4Cs - Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Communication, and Creativity, aiming to enhance student learning experiences through skill-based teaching. ALSTOM Celebrates Innovation at STEAM Fair 2024 in Madhepura, Bihar! On the auspicious occasion of National Science Day, we organized a spectacular STEAM FAIR with the invaluable support of ALSTOM, as part of our STEM Shakti Program 2023-2024. Held at High School Bhagwanpur, West Sahugarh, Bihar, this event featured 28 sustainable prototypes which were crafted by over 140 bright young minds from four schools across Madehpura. Divided into STEAM clubs, each school presented their unique solutions and ideas, embodying the spirit of innovation. The inauguration was graced by esteemed dignitaries including the District Magistrate of Madhepura, Mr. Vijay Prakash Meena, IAS, Site Managing Director Alstom Madhepura, Mr. Sanjeev Viz, Head of Industrial Alstom Madhepura, Mr. Syed Mohib Hussain, District Education Officer of Madhepura, Mr. Saeed Ansari, and Project Manager from Learning Links Foundation, Mr. Muddassir Zamin. We had the privilege to welcome Hon’ble Sri Narayan Rane, Union Minister of MSME, as our Chief Guest for SASHAKTI Conclave 2023-24 in Sindhudurg, Maharashtra. We are happy to share the success of our collaboration with Shell NXplorers and NITI Aayog! 🤝 Empowering 171 ATL coordinators across Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu, our partnership with Atal Innovation Mission through the Shell NXplorers Program is making waves in education. In the past 6 months, Learning Links Foundation and Shell NXplorers conducted Professional Development Training Sessions for ATL Coordinators on the NXplorers methodology. All 171 ATL coordinators have completed three training sessions, becoming certified NXplorers facilitators. They have, in turn, trained over 11,500 students in NXplorers Juniors' methodology, guiding them to develop transformative NXplorers projects. Three events featuring senior officials from the Department of Education, industry experts, and academicians, were held in Mumbai, Virudhnagar, Udupi, and Belgaum to celebrate this achievement. Minister Irani launched the Boeing literacy programs in the district to help advance female literacy and empower girl children in Amethi. The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi had recently dedicated to the nation the Boeing Sukanya Program, which aims to provide opportunities for girls and women from across India to learn critical skills in STEM fields and train for jobs in the aviation sector. “Foremost, I am grateful to our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi for his vision in helping advance the participation of our country’s daughters in India's aviation sector through the Boeing Sukanya Program. Exciting News! Interacting with Government school teachers from Gudalur block, the Nilgiris District, Tamil Nadu where the Road To School program is being implemented. Our recent workshop at the BITE (Block Institute of Teacher Education) Centre on February 16th, 2024, supported by the district education department was a game-changer. We empowered 30 primary and middle grade teachers with innovative strategies, and technology integration through ChatGPT for educational purposes and Chat BOT support. Additionally, discussions on the effective use of Teaching Learning Materials (TLMs) were also facilitated. Our goal? To forge strong partnerships from the first year of the program! Over the past 4 weeks, more than 7,500 students delved deeper into topics such as Conquering the Land, Air, & Water Wars, The Water Front Line, Ambush the Waste, and Plastic Recycle & Upcycle Drill. The Green Army Program is dedicated to educating and empowering young individuals, fostering a generation committed to environmental stewardship. The dedication and passion demonstrated by these young minds represent a significant stride toward a greener, more sustainable future for our regions. This program is now live in 10 Road To School (RTS) schools in Ennore, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and it’s all about fostering healthy communication between government school students and their amazing parents. Plus, we are incredibly excited about boosting parental involvement in School Management Committees (SMCs)! We have identified and trained 10 incredible parent facilitators from the community over the past three months through our partner organization, Parenting Matters. They are now armed with the knowledge of brain science, child development basics, self-care, effective communication, setting limits with love, and disciplining with empathy. A huge shoutout to the Gulf Oil Team for their incredible support, allowing us to host these sessions at their factory premises in Ennore, Chennai. On 31st January 2024, these facilitators received their well-deserving certificates from esteemed guests, including Ms. Niyati Sareen, Project Director of Water and Education at Hinduja Foundation, and the Gulf Oil team represented by Mr. Dhanasekaran, Head - Manufacturing Unit, Mr. Arul, HR Manager, and Mr. Ganesh, Plant Head. Now equipped with knowledge and enthusiasm, our facilitators are ready to empower parents in our schools and communities.
