Hier ist meine Review zu "Der weiße Hai 3": Schwachsinn, Langeweile und Tierquälerei in 3D. Alle schimpfen immer auf den vierten Teil der Jaws Reihe. Ja, der Film hat das wohl dümmste Drehbuch der Horrorgeschichte, aber verglichen mit diesem schäbigen dritten Teil, hat der vierte Teil immerhin viel Trash Entertainment auf Lager. Der weiße Hai 3 hingegen kommt aus einer Zeit, in der 3D voll der Bringer war. Und damals wie heute war das 3D ein Geschwür und extrem schädigend für die wahre Filmkunst. Der Film ist hässlich, langweilig und extrem unangenehm in seiner Darstellung. Seaworld - ein riesiges Aquarium direkt an Floridas Küste steht kurz vor der Neueröffnung, als sich ein weißer Hai in das falsche Schwimmbecken verirrt. Während manche Leute die Tötung des Tieres ins Fernsehen übertragen wollen, sind andere Leute der Ansicht, dass sie das Tier behalten und pflegen sollten. Noch ahnt keiner die Konsequenzen aus dieser Entscheidung, die schon bald den gesamten Park einholen werden. Ich musste schon ein wenig mit den Zähnen knirschen, diesem Film überhaupt eine Plattform zu geben, denn er glorifiziert Wale und Delfine in Gefangenschaft und propagiert diese Tierquälerei als etwas ganz Tolles. Einer der Gründe weshalb ich nie eine Kritik zu Free Willy machen würde. Nun stammt der Film aus einer anderen Zeit und zum Glück nimmt diese Thematik nicht so viel Platz ein. Das eigentlich Thema? Gute Frage, denn ein Plot ist hier nicht erkennbar. Die Effekte sind unbeschreiblich schlecht und sehen unanschaubar aus und die meiste Zeit herrscht Langweile. Offenbar war kein wirkliches Drehbuch vorhanden, denn außer, dass ein Hai angreift, passiert in diesem gähnenden Mist nichts.

In Memoriam: Louis Gossett Jr. Gossett was one of the ultimate co-stars or supporting actors of 80s and early 90s films. His career, which started on stage (acting and music) in the 60s was dealt a setback in the 90s and beyond by various health issues. His two most famous roles are, arguably, his Oscar winning performance as the drill sargeant that has an adversarial relationship with Richard Gere in "An Officer and a Gentleman", and the alien Jeriba who fights then befriends Dennis Quaid in "Enemy Mine". His film career started with the adaptation of "Raisin in the Sun", in which he had starred in Broadway. He received good reviews opposite Sidney Poitier and Ruby Dee, but his movie career did not take off. After doing standout TV work, he started getting interesting roles in the late 70s: as an effective villain in "The Deep", and opposite James Garner in "Skin Game". From then on he stood out in the following and more: -"The Guardian", with Martin Sheen. -"Jaws 3D", with Dennis Quaid and a Great White Shark twice as large as any known. -The Principal", with James Belushi -"The Punisher", with Dolph Lundgren. -"Toy Soldiers", with Sean Astin and Andrw Divoff. -"Diggstown", with James Woods. -"A Good Man in Africa", with Colin Friels and Sean Connery. He was also the connecting thread of all four "Iron Eagle" fighter jet action movies. #MasterSardusArchive - Jaws 3-D aka Jaws 3 (1983) Yesterday we lost a national treasure in actor Louis Gossett Jr…. A man who was the first African American to win the best supporting actor trophy and starred in a million big movies. But what I will ALWAYS remember him for is his turn as Calvin, the greedy Seaworld park manager in Jaws 3-D! Not the best movie, but an interesting take on continuing the character arc of Mike Brody (chief Brody’s kid from the first film and main character of Pr2) sees Mike working at Seaworld down in Florida. Dennis Quaid checks in here as Mike and he does a great job (I always liked Quaid) as the protagonist. Plus we get the lovely Lea Thompson in one of her earliest roles (another huge star with a start in horror). But the truth is this movie has a silly premise… which is why it’s great! They had more money and used it in a cooler way, which leads to some great stunt shots above/below the water as well as some cool gore in the kills. But the scene that steals all scenes is when they try to explain to Calvin that it’s actually the sharks much larger mom they have to be worried about at the park… and he exclaims “We talkin’ bout some damn sharks mother?”. You're gonna need a bigger screen. The Detroit Symphony Orchestra announced that they would be playing the score to Jaws live. It was the first time I had ever seen a movie and orchestra being played together so I didn't know what to expect. When the first note played and the title came on the screen, I got goosebumps from just how incredible the music sounded live. It was such a different take on the movie that it felt like seeing it for the first time again. The movie was shown in 2 parts with an intermission in the middle. The movie was a wild ride with an audience as well for all the jump scares, the laughs and the epic climax. Jaws was directed by Steven Spielberg and released in 1975. The film would go on to become the first Blockbuster of the Summer. It went on to win 3 Academy Awards for Best Film Editing, Best Original Dramatic Score and Best Sound. The movie spawned sequels as well, Jaws 2, Jaws 3D and Jaws: The Revenge but were never as good as the first film. Jaws is my favorite film. In my opinion, it's a perfect film that has everything from horror to comedy, relatable characters and a score that changed everything. I remember the first time finding it in my grandma's movies and being enamored with the cover. I was really young when I first watched it and it scared the hell out of me. Ever since I first saw it, I've been hooked and never went into the water again.
