Remembering Luna who passed away last year after an eight month fight with DMG. She was just four years old. Luna fought with so much strength, bravery and grace. She was a mighty girl. She touched the hearts of so many, all who knew her and those of us who only knew her through social media, we will never forget her. Her beautiful, powerful light will shine on. We will remember her and always say her name. Luna. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers. Being with you always felt like gazing at the stars and into the infinity, reading a book which never ends. You had no boundaries, all you knew was to shine, and live without any walls around you on every page. As you danced in the light with joy, love lifted you. As you brushed against this world so gently, you lifted us. Shine your soul with the same egoless humility as the rainbow and no matter where you go in this world or the next, love will find you, attend you, and bless you. #DefeatDIPG #DMG #Enoughoftherare #RememberTheirNames Luna Zoé Cristobal 31st December 2018 - 1st June 2023

Charles Thomas, Charlie 1st June 2001 - 6th August 2018 Happy Birthday Charlie Charlie was athletic, he loved to hike, play lacrosse and enjoyed running. He was a smart student who took an active part of many areas of school life. He belonged to St Ann’s church and served at the altar and as a Sacristan. Charlie loved nature and was an advocate for climate change and taking care of the earth. Charlie was only fourteen when his family heard the terrible news that he had dipg, a type brain cancer which is considered terminal upon diagnosis. The disease mostly affects much younger children and Charlie was determined to be a voice for them. Charlie advocated for other kids with pediatric cancer and reached out to others who were suffering. He attended research conferences and participated in several clinical trials. Charlie refused to be defined by his disease but faced it head on, always looking for the wonder in every moment and teaching us to celebrate life in the good and bad. He is a shining light who is so very missed, not just by his family and loved ones but by those of us who never met him but were touched by his spirit and courage. Charlie fought with bravery and grace and chose to love every minute of his life. He also chose to donate his brain and tumor to medical research in hopes of helping others in the future. Please keep Charlie’s family in your thoughts and prayers today and always. Charlie should be celebrating turning twenty three today. #DefeatDipg #Enoughoftherare #GoGray #Dipg #Remembertheirnames

Remembering Kinley who passed away five years ago after fighting dipg since March 2018. She was just six years old. Her family did everything they could to keep their little girl happy and carrying on with as much normal as possible. A little girl who won the hearts of everyone who met her. She never complained about her illness but just got up every day and participated in whatever was planned. Please keep Kinley’s loved ones in your thoughts and prayers. A butterfly lights beside us, like a sunbeam… and for a brief moment it’s glory and beauty belong to our world… but then it flies on again, and although we wish it could have stayed, we are so thankful to have seen it at all. #defeatdipg #DIPG #RememberTheirNames #Enoughoftherare

Today we remember Constanza who passed away six years ago ago after a long fight with dipg, she fought for sixteen months. She was from Chile and she fought so bravely, always with the same beautiful smile. Constance was just eight years old. Constanza told her mum about a beautiful swing that was in the clouds, it’s good to imagine her swinging today and laughing with that beautiful laugh. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers. You are the finest, loveliest, tenderest, and most beautiful person I have ever known and even that is an understatement. I don’t know if life was greater than death. But love was more than either. #Derrotar a Dipg #DIPG #RecordarSusNombres

We go grey in May because of: Helena👼🏽 2 days ago was Helena’s 2nd angelversary💔💔💔💔💝 if you are unaware of her story, Helena was only 7 years old when her entire world changed. She was diagnosed with DIPG and was in the fight for her life. She endured radiation treatments soon afterwards and she continued to fight. One day, Helena began to have multiple seizures of what was originally an unknown origin. Soon it was found that that she had a brain hemorrhage, and that hemorrhage was a result of her spinal fluid being backed up so much to the point where it was causing her spinal vertebras to be extremely swollen. Her tumor had also become swollen at this time and had grown more. It was also discovered that she had pneumonia which caused her breathing to extremely compromised. She gained her wings at the age of 8 after fighting for over half a year💝 @helenasfightfordipg @jeny4rmthebloxknails #gogreyinmay #mayisbraincancerawarenessmonth #ForeverHelena #DIPG #dipgawareness #dipgangel #defeatDIPG #braincancerawareness #diffuseintrinsicpontineglioma #givekidsachance #givekidsachanceact #childhoodcancer #kidscancer #pediatriccancerawareness #gogoldforchildhoodcancer #childhoodcancersucks #childhoodcancerawareness #nationalpriority #gogold #childhoodcanceradvocate #kidsgetcancertoo #fightlikeakid #thisischildhoodcancer #morethan4 #pediatriccancer 🎗🎗 #NCI #kidsareworthmore

Remembering Kaydence who passed away five years ago. She was just nine years old and had been fighting dipg since May 2018. Kaydence loved to travel and so her Facebook page began, stories and pictures of adventures Kaydence took, pictures from people of places all over the world and there was also ‘Flat Kaydence’ who went on her travels too. There is no doubt that Kaydence was a sweet, loving and brave little girl who captured the hearts of those she met and those who knew her from following her journey. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers. We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm, and adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open. Do not follow where the path may lead. #GoGray for Layla Layla passed away seven years ago after a fourteen month fight with dipg. She was just four years old. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers. Layla showed us that even with dipg you can live a life of joy and laughter and fun. That you can be dealt the worst card there is but still rise above it and find contentment and delight. A butterfly lights beside us, like a sunbeam… and for a brief moment it’s glory and beauty belong to our world… but then it flies on again, and although we wish it could have stayed, we are so thankful to have seen it at all. #DefeatDipg #Dipg #Enoughoftherare #gogray #RememberTheirNames #braintumourawareness

Ariella passed away on the 31st May, five years ago, the last day of brain tumor awareness month and the third child to lose her life to this terrible disease on that day. Ariella was a gorgeous little girl, full of life and joy and giggles. Ariella truly sparkled and her ray of light and sunshine is badly missed from her home and the lives of her family. Ariella was diagnosed the previous September, the day after her fifth birthday. Please keep Ariella’s parents Emilia and John in your thoughts and prayers. Death ends a physical life, not a relationship. Lost love is still love. It takes a different form, that's all. You can't see their smile or bring them food or tousle their hair or move them around a dance floor. But when those senses weaken another heightens. Memory. Memory becomes your partner. You nurture it. You hold it. You dance with it. #DefeatDIPG #Enoughoftherare #DIPG #braintumourawareness #RememberTheirNames

Remembering Kayge who passed away five years ago after a brave and courageous fight with dipg. He was just six years old and the end came very rapidly and suddenly for his family. Kayge was an incredible boy, full of joy and fun and giggles. He was the sweetest, kindest little man and was as brave as any one ever could be. I could continue on about how many children have passed away lately but the truth is, one is too many. Imagine if little Kayge was your child, he’s five years old and you’re told there’s nothing anyone can do. It’s the most gut wrenching and unfair thing. Kayge had potential, he was funny, he had smarts, he was supposed to grow up and lead a full life, fulfilling his dreams. Please keep his family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers, especially his siblings. Thank you So as you stand upon a shore, gazing at a beautiful sea - remember me. As you look in awe at a mighty forest and its grand majesty - remember me. As you look upon a flower and admire its simplicity - remember me. Remember me in your heart, your thoughts, your memories of the times we loved, the times we cried, the times we giggled, the times we laughed. For if you always think of me, I will never be gone. #defeatdipg #DIPG #Enoughoftherare #RememberTheirNames #braintumourawareness

Maika Lefebvre 31st May 2013 - 13th April 2019 Happy Birthday Maika, Eleven in Heaven Maika was like any other five year old girl, full of fun, energy and laughter. She was a ray of sunshine in the life of everyone who knew her and she had the biggest of hearts, she cared about everyone. Maika loved collecting stuffies, unicorns and doing art and crafts. She adored all the Disney princesses and loved to dress up as them, she also loved to wear make up, paint her nails and accessories. She was always smiling, she was so smart and beautiful. Sadly Maika was diagnosed with dipg on the 27th August 2018. Despite her young age of just five, she fought with maturity and grace, always caring more for others than herself. She never complained even in the last two weeks of her life when things were tough. Maika accepted all she went through with bravery and patience, she went through radiation without sedation. Maika battled like a true warrior as she fought to stay with her family for longer. Maika fought for seven months before passing away in the arms of her mummy and daddy. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers today. #DefeatDIPG #Enoughoftherare #DIPG #braintumourawareness #RememberTheirNames

Forever three Remembering Stevie who was two and a half when she was diagnosed with dipg on Easter Sunday 2020. The family’s plan was to bring little Stevie home to her familiar things as soon as possible but Stevie gently transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly forever home just a few weeks later. Please keep all who love her in your thoughts and prayers. O child, my child, are you going away? Will you leave on the wings of the morning? You have heard his voice; you've answered the call, But it's hard the path you're making. Will you think of me When the blue bird sings, With the warmth of the sun in its rising And I'll think of you When the roses bloom, With the sound of a baby laughing. And if I never hear your sweet voice again We will sing at the gates of heaven O we'll sing at the gates of heaven Walk on, walk on, with the wind at your back And a prayer for a new life beginning. You've been given to me by the Good Maker's hands Now my gift to the Lord is returning. And I'll bless your path With the stars at night, And the smile of the day as its dawning. And if I never walk beside you again, We'll dance at the gates of heaven, O we'll dance at the gates of heaven. #DefeatDipg #Dipg #Enoughoftherare #RememberTheirNames #braintumourawareness

Claire Sophia Hornby 29th May 2010 - 8th September 2020 Happy Birthday Claire Claire loved to sing and dance and always had a smile on her face. She loved school and was a curious learner, she was joyful, kind and funny. Most important to Claire were her family, friends and her puppy, whom she named, Mr. Freddy von Fluffypants. She never held back on the love she shared with so many and she never knew a stranger. Clair loved animals and before she died she helped to set up a program like a food pantry, only instead of offering groceries for people, it offers kibbles and canned fare for pets. Claire had a seventeen month journey with DMG. Claire was her family’s sunshine and she showed them that even with the diagnosis of DMG you can still love and find joy in things both small and large. That even amidst the deadly prognosis, you can still live and live strongly and seek the best of life with passion and vigor. Claire used perseverance, humor and wonder to contend with incurable cancer She faced her disease with strength and a quiet courage that were well beyond her years. In the early hours of Tuesday, September 8, 2020, Claire Sophia Hornby passed away at home. She was ten years old. Claire walked knowingly towards her death, unafraid. She loved God and knew he would protect her. Claire's tumor, which she named "Nerd," was donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital upon her death. They don't die. Not completely. They live in your mind, the way they always lived inside you. You keep their light alive. If you remember them well enough, they can still guide you, like the shine of long-extinguished stars could guide ships in unfamiliar waters. Dipg is a paediatric brain cancer which is inoperable and incurable, it is considered terminal on diagnosis. Most of those affected live for nine to twelve months. It mostly occurs in young children but can affect teenagers, young people and more rarely adults. Funding for research is minimal with most monies coming from foundations and charities set up by families who have lost their child. This is why a cure for dipg and other brain cancers lags a long way behind other cancers. Sadly we still have a long way to go for all paediatric cancers, please help by sharing stories and only giving to charities who give all monies raised to research for children. #DefeatDipg #Dipg #Enoughoftherare #gogray #RememberTheirNames #braintumourawareness

Remembering Drake who passed away five years ago after a brave and courageous fight with dipg that began in March 2017. He was eight years old. Drake showed us all that even with the diagnosis of DIPG you can live and find joy, even amongst the pain and loss that Drake has experienced you can live strongly and pursue life to the full every moment. Drake was a wonderful little boy, he was full of life and energy and fought dipg with the same tenacity he used to tackle the rest of life. My heart breaks to post about the passing of this little boy with so much to live for. Drake deserved so much more and we have to do better. Drake had potential, he was funny, he had smarts, he was supposed to grow up and lead a full life, fulfilling his dreams. My heart breaks for another little broken body. He is now healed in heaven but his family have to to live without their adorable son. Please keep them and all who love Drake in your thoughts and prayers. There can be no goodbyes for us It'd be too painful, dear Our connection still lives on Although you're far from here I miss the times that we once had But one day, once again I'll hold you close and laugh with you I just wish I knew when Each moment til that day arrives Until my time is through I'll miss you more than words can say And always think of you I'll look for you among the stars, And each dawn's pastel sky. And whisper words of love to you And never say goodbye #DefeatDipg #GoGray #Dipg #Enoughoftherare #braintumourawareness #Remembertheirnames

He is a bundle of joy whose resilience inspires those around him. At 2 years old, Gavin’s parents began to notice that he went cross-eyed at times. After visiting an ophthalmologist, he was sent for an MRI just to be safe. After the results came back, Gavin was diagnosed with DIPG. Despite receiving the heartbreaking diagnosis, Gavin’s family is committed to ensuring he can still part-take in tee-ball practice and see his friends from kindergarten! When people ask me why I started doing this, here are my whys. Because of Sadie and Mara I have been honoured to support thousands of families and to remember their children. Today I though I'd share Sadie and Mara. There families were the first dipg families that I had real contact with, I’d followed other families but never communicated. Although I have never met either of these precious little girls, they have both taught me so much and forever changed my heart. They both dealt with dipg as so many of these children do, with courage and smiles, determination and grace. They never fussed about the limitations dipg gave them but showed me every day how to live with hope and faith and to see the bigger picture. How to find joy and wonder in every day. They both knew that their heavenly father loved them and He would always be there for them whatever happened. Mara passed away in 08 and Sadie in 09. Heather Adams Tiffany Huish love you guys You are the finest, loveliest, tenderest, and most beautiful person I have ever known—and even that is an understatement. When I find you again Love, it’ll rain where there’s a drought, it’ll shine where it should snow, the earth will shake where it’s never moved, mountains will rise on the flattest plains, stars will fall all around us, rainbows will appear at night, but the world won’t notice a thing. Because when you find me, Love, the past and present will cease to exist and we’ll fall into a moment that will last forever - F. #GoGray for Arden Remembering Arden who passed away nine years ago after fighting dipg with faith, courage and grace. I never met Arden and her family were not really Facebook users but we were kept up with her journey through her fundraiser page and her uncle Ryan who shared her fight. Please keep her family and all who love her in your thoughts and prayers. Here's another way to put it: You're here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We're going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don't think I'm going to hide you under a bucket, do you? Heartbroken to share that Indori has passed away after living with and fighting dipg for almost eleven years, Dori was diagnosed on the 18th of June 2013; she was just two years old. I have a huge heart for Indori having followed her story and sent her packages since the beginning of her journey with dipg, even though I knew she was in progression and has been for a while, the news is sad and shocking. Indori was a strong and brave princess who loved Disney princesses, the colour pink and to sing and dance; she was a wonderful dancer. She was always full of happiness and had the same beautiful smile on her face no matter what she faced, she was an inspiration to us all in how to find the wonder in every day and find the joy in every moment. Indori was a hero, she was brave and strong, but she shouldn't have had to be, no child should, there should have been a cure for Dori so that she could live her life and grow up to fulfil her dreams and those of her family for her. You are healed now Indori, dance away beautiful princess. Please keep Dori's family in your thoughts and prayers. You are the finest, loveliest, tenderest, and most beautiful person I have ever known—and even that is an understatement. Remembering Bryan who passed away on this day ten years ago. Normally I do a short post for an 'angelversary' and share how long a child fought dipg, Bryan fought for only 16 days. Imagine being told you had only six to nine months with your child and then only getting a little over two weeks. No time for special treats and events, no time to do the often dreaded ‘make memories.’ I'm sharing a little of Bryan's story here because his mom had been sharing the details of her son's story every day during May again this year. year. Joanne Peels is so brave to recall and share. If you go over to her page she has written a longer and more detailed post. Bryan started with a headache on the fourth of May 2014 and on the 6th Joanne got a call to pick Bryan up from school as he wasn't feeling so good. At this point she noticed that Bryan was stumbling and that one eye didn't look right. By the 7th Bryan told his mom he was seeing double and his Dr referred him for a CAT scan. The doctors could see something on the scan and decided Bryan needed an MRI. It was then that Bryan's family heard the words Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma and were told their precious and beautiful boy was going to die. There was nothing the Drs could do. On the 22nd Bryan started radiation and a clinical trial. The next day Bryan was incredibly sleepy and finding it difficult to talk. He was rushed to urgent care and from there the decision was made to ventilate Bryan who was deteriorating rapidly. Joanne told Bryan she loved him and he replied, ' I love you too, don't cry, I'm going to be ok'. These were Bryan's last words as he passed away on the 25th May. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers today. And she loved a little boy very, very much—even more than she loved herself. #GoGrayinMay #DefeatDipg #Dipg #Enoughoftherare #RememberTheirNames #braintumourawareness

Ian Steven-James Pomeroy 25th May 2012 - 10th July 2018 Happy Birthday Ian Ian loved being outdoors, and enjoyed riding anything with a motor, especially jet skis, dirt bikes and snowmobiles. He was an energetic blond hair boy. Ian was known for having fun in the sun, fishing, jogging, and running from the girls who loved to chase him. He loved playing games, watching YouTube, and was known as the “Bottle-Flip Champion” of the family. Although his years here were short, he leaves a legacy of bringing people together, and facing even the most unbearable challenges with love and courage. Ian fought dipg for almost a year with spirit, tenacity and courage. A small child who was truly mighty and who taught us all how to be courageous, to look the things we are scared of straight in the eye and that what ever is happening, you can always find joy. He passed away at the age of only six but taught us all so much on his too short journey. These children all passed away from dipg. Twenty beautiful children who have lost their lives because of dipg. All these beautiful and precious children with so much love and potential who should have had the chance to grow and fulfil their dreams and the dreams and hopes of their families. It's heartbreaking to look at these adorable faces and know that they are all gone. This is not ok, it will never be ok. Please remember these children, please pray for their families and please share their beautiful faces and their stories with everyone you can. Things have got to change, we can't settle for this. Look at these children and ask yourself if it's possible to do nothing. Do not go gentle into that good night. He enjoyed school, playing with his friends and his brother. Lucas had the biggest heart and the biggest smile. He was full of love for everyone he met and taught us all to take that moment to reach out to someone who may need it. In September 2016 Lucas was diagnosed with DIPG, an aggressive brain tumor that typically affects children and has no known cause or cure. He fought bravely for 18 months and inspired all who knew him. Lucas passed away on March 21, 2018, just a few months shy of his 7th birthday. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers today Lucas’s milestone thirteenth birthday. When you know someone close to you who are quiet or smaller or missing, seek them out, they may need to be found again. It is most beautiful to turn off our ego and feel true empathy for others. Compassion, sympathy, kindness, empathy, selflessness, etc. are the biggest signs of a person with a good soul and a big heart. It only takes a split second to smile and forget, yet to someone that needed it, it can last a lifetime. #GoGray for Molly Remembering Molly Little, 'Molly Dolly' who touched all our hearts with her bravery, smile and her joy for life. She was sweet, zany and kind. Molly was just six years old and she fought dipg for eleven months before passing away nine years ago. You are truly missed every day Molly. Please keep Molly's family in your thoughts and prayers today. There is inestimable blessing in a cheerful spirit. When the soul throws its windows wide open, letting in the sunshine, and presenting to all who see it the evidence of its gladness, it is not only happy, but it has an unspeakable power of doing good. #GoGray #Dipg #DefeatDipg #Enoughoftherare #RememberTheirNames #braintumourawareness

Remembering Trinity who passed away seven years ago after a brave fight with dipg. Trinity was diagnosed with dipg the previous summer and she showed us how to fight with strength and grace. Trinity was just six years old and is a twin to brother Tristan. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers. Memories saturate my heart and the story of you spills from my eyes. If I had a single flower for every time I think about you, I could walk forever in my garden. #Dipg #DefeatDipg #Enoughoftherare #GrayEveryDay #braintumourawareness #RememberTheirNames

Crew and his family need our love, support, warm thoughts and prayers, this dipg journey is so very hard and no child, no family should have to endure it. Standing with you Allison Kay Camp, always with hope. Update on our boy: My love has been having a harder time lately. Balance is super off and wild. Crew’s eyes are doing things they’ve never done before. Wandering, turning in, red, tired. “Mom, my cancer is just being tough today, but it’s ok!” is usually how the conversation goes. “My legs are really tired but I can rest them and they will be fine!” He adapts everyday to whatever cruel things DIPG is doing to him. He looks at us bravely and promises he is fine and we should carry on like we always do. So, that’s what we do. If we can. Crew refuses to let his cancer define him and we’re trying our best to match that goal when it’s possible. Crew craves to be normal. He misses his old life, and to be honest… we all do. We are living a nightmare. One where we are forced to watch Crew slowly unbecome himself a little bit more everyday. He’s slowly losing control of his little body and it’s as awful as you can imagine it would be having to powerlessly spectate as my son’s precious life dwindles a bit more with every passing day. Appreciate what you have, especially your health if you have it. Take care of yourself so you can take care of the ones you love when they need you. Prepare for the worst, but expect the best. See the beauty in the pain and keep pushing yourself even when it hurts, even when you feel like you’ll fold. Remember what’s important and get rid of what isn’t. Never forget that each moment is a new opportunity to start again and you can do that at any time. We love you all. Keep holding us close. This hurts so much. 💔🎗️ Crew’s Crew #CrewStrong #CrewsCrew #DIPG #dipgawareness #DefeatDIPG #dipgwarrior #childhoodcancerawareness
