Getting fit on holiday in Weymouth (Day 4): Abbotsbury Swannery and Chesil beach This is the story of how I combined getting fit and healthy while having a fantastic time on holiday in Weymouth in 2015. It is still one of the best sets of memories I made that year or any year but also one of the most active, playful and fun. The lesson for this day is how much benefit you can get from a relaxed day visiting a wildlife reserve and beach. For such a relaxing day I still managed some good health statistics while really enjoying myself. At Abbotsbury they have made the swans feel so at home that it has the feel of a swan nursery so the experience is so calm and natural, kind of like wandering through one of Beatrix Potters books. I didn’t realise how special this day would be until we met the swans. There was no way to convey in images just how unique the experience is and at the start it seemed more like a regular day out. Even though this was essentially a chilled out day and one of the more relaxed of the trip so far we still got in some decent movement and cmade some fantastic memories. Who am I? Who am I? I think it’s time for a re introduction: So, little about me: I am Mélissa, live in Antwerp, Belgium. I used to work 9-5 for years, but found out the hard way that 9-5 wasn’t healthy at all. I have clusterheadache (an extreme form of headache) since 2003. The problem was that the treatments weren’t working and the disease got worse and worse until I had to stop working. Rural, romantic, country setting, great for couples or the sole traveller wishing to unwind and re-charge. Escape from the pressures of day to day life, relax and unwind in one of these beautiful shepherd huts. The huts are off-grid with a solar lighting system and usb plugs. Situated in North-Cornwall on an organic smallholding, close to the coast with lots of great walks nearby and handy for all local attractions. An abundance of wildlife and horses will keep you company. NB: The hot tubs will need to be booked in advance at a charge of £30 per time.
