Through Sports Recruits the girls have sent 501 messages, they have 130 returned messages, and 328 views of profile and videos. They have been looked at by DI, DII, DIII, and NAIA schools. The players doing the work are being looked at. It doesn't take a brand name to be seen. This group just finished a long weekend of Softball at the Buckeye Recruitfest. They started early Friday morning and just finished 1st in their bracket. Pool play on Friday and Saturday did not go quite as well as hoped with a 1-2-1 record but they came to play Sunday. The defense stepped up and only allowed 7 runs in 5 games. They finished it off with 2 spectacular catches. #16 Sophie Culp robbed a homerun flipping over the fence on the catch to get the 2nd out of the 7th inning. Then #11 Karly Anderson snagged a hard line drive just over her head to get the 3rd out to win the game! #10 Ella Goodin was asked to catch 3 straight games today in the heat and she was an absolute beast! Only 2 past balls. #27 Elena Roberstson pitched 26 innings all weekend. She 4 Wins, 4 ER, 17ks, and only 2 walks. Jess Cleveland came out and helped us on the circle too. These ladies had the opportunity to compete in I pool at Grand Park in the Midwest Firecracker Showcase. While there were some spectacular plays made at times we just couldn't string many good innings together. We had too many multi error games and only 1 extra base hit all weekend, that combination will not lead to winning softball. Day 2 at Vette City proved to be very challenging. Everyone is battling the long games in the heat, but we have been battling the injury bug. Our pitchers are fighting through injury, we also have injuries at middle infield and outfield. They fought through everything yesterday going 1-2. We finished pool with a 2-3 record, that is very good considering our health, and if fully healthy I think that record looks quite different. We did earn a chance to play in bracket. We were knocked out of State yesterday. Offensively we were flat only generating one hit and one bunt. I struggled finding the strike zone with my pitch calls putting our pitchers in a tough position. We have to do a better job of making adjustments. Huge shout out to Grace Walker for catching nearly 20 innings. I asked a lot of Elena Robertson this weekend as she pitch over half the innings for our team. Our defense played well, Karly Anderson showed out with 1.00 Fielding PCT on 9 putouts at SS. Kimber Aust was a great too with a .953 Fielding PCT with 25 putouts at 1st and 2nd. Day one back together competing and I'm proud of what they did!! Game 1 was a good battle against Indiana Shockwaves Lovell. Our girls pulled out the 5-4 win. Game 2 vs a strong Force was a defensive battle, Force opened it up in the bottom of the 4th scoring 3 runs, we battled back in the top of the 5th scoring 3 runs. We were unable to put a run across the plate in international tiebreaker. Force did their job and scored the winning run in the bottom of the 6th. Proud of these ladies!! We'll have to battle back from the losers bracket of 16U A, but I have no doubt this group can make it happen. So glad to be back with my girls!! Wow...these ladies had one heck of a weekend to wrap up our IAF season. After spending 14 hours at the diamonds on Saturday we can back a bit groggy yesterday morning. Our two pool games were quite sloppy but we had a short break, we reset and refocused to put it together in pool. Our first pool game we faced a strong Indy Bandits team winning 4-1. We then went into our 2nd pool against 18U Beasts Fury and wow was it another pitcher/defensive duel. They game was scoreless going into the bottom of the 5th when they snuck a run across to get the win. These ladies put it all out there this weekend playing 37 inning in 2 days. They battled for each other through ups and downs! TEAM SOFTBALL I want to send a huge thank you to Kylie Palmer, Adie Paschal, and Megan Walker for helping us out this weekend! The defense and pitchers stepped up huge in bracket. With some timely hits and small ball we scored 4 runs in the quarter final. IAF took the win 4-0 thanks to a no hit shut out by pitcher ( #18 Lylah Farrell 8 Ks) @lylahfarrell18 and a strong defense. The semi final was a defensive duel for 5 innings. Elena Robertson pitched a great game forcing our opponent to put the ball in play and allowing the defense to make spectacular plays. After going down by 1 early these ladies battled every single pitch. We fought hard to tie it up in the top of the 5th. Unfortunately Primetime 04 was able to get a big hit to put a runner in scoring position and bring her in on a suicide squeeze to take the win 2-1. Our ladies showed a tremendous amount of grit and toughness. They learned that if they trust themselves to make the tough defensive plays(just go for it), they can stop anything. So much confidence was gained in the circle and in the field! We fell one run short in the semifinal against the eventual champions. 1-3 on the night. Looking at those standings and our run differential, you could say we failed, but you would be wrong! We came into the night shorthanded with only 9 players, and 4 of those 9 were either playing through injury or playing in their first games in multiple months. We walked in knowing the competition was going to be fierce- and it was! The first 3 games, we were out of sorts defensively committing errors. We did not, however, lack effort! There were multiple players laying out to make plays and all 9 hustled for every ball. It showed true character to stay motivated and have energy through the 3 games while being outscored by 20+ runs. Parents- your players realized that and do not need reminded. They played college-committed players, some of whom are 3 years older. In the last game after Rylan turned a double play behind the plate, the defense did not allow a run in the top of the 1st. The offense came out on fire and exploded with an 8 run inning. The defense only allowed 3 runs that game. They got the win 8-3! Stats were awful in the the first 3 games, but my girls stayed engaged and committed, and had belief in themselves. Outside of the win on the field, the bigger win was mental growth! Parents, we could find tournaments where we get wins everytime, but that is not why I coach and that is not what will grow your player. We have a strong group of 06 players and your kid needs to think you believe that! #AllOutAssault #ProudCoach

This past weekend, we finished up our fall season. Record wise, we finished just over 500, but that does not begin to tell the story of this awesome group of young women! The previous 3 seasons, IAF 06 only played local/central Indiana tournaments. We worked to raise the competition level of our players each season: C to B then B to A. Moving into 16U, we decided to really take a crack at college exposure/showcase events, keeping a core of 9 together throughout. After a couple of local tourneys early this fall, we set our sights on our Showcase schedule. If you don't know, let me tell you, it's a massive jump from local, open play to showcase play! While we could have finished with a couple more wins, I'm not disappointed with our 8-10 record! Our defense was challenged with more balls and play. Our pitching was challenged with strong hitters throughout every single line up. Our hitters were challenged with top-level pitching. While our stats did sag a bit, not a single player fell flat with this big step! We had our struggles, but we had very bright moments too! These last 5 weeks were a success! We set out to have our players be exposed to college recruiting and that happened with multiple players getting looks from coaches in every division.Because of her hard work on the field and the work she's doing on Sports Recruits #3 Kimber Aust was personally invited to attend DePauw recruit camp by Head Coach Erica Hanrahan. Competing game in and game out is the next step, and these ladies can do it! Standouts from our month of showcase events: #32 Baleigh Adams hit her 1st home run and was asked to catch 67 of 79 innings with only 4 passed balls. #18 Lylah Farrell pitched in just under half of those 79 innings while maintaining .441 BA #2 Taylor Bennett maintained 100% in the field with 0 errors. We'll be off until December then pick up winter workouts and Sunday team practices. The next level is not always easy....that's why we make adjustments not excuses and stay committed to the process! #AllOutAssault
