When that morning sunshine filters through, I get all the feels 🥰 taking class with @michelle_j0y this morning was such a fun treat. I kept thinking to myself, “what a way to wake up!” I hadn’t even finished my coffee yet and was feeling SO good in her lively flow, her tunes had me dancing on my mat and getting all the good wiggles in before taking it down for some much needed and well deserved restorative. She reminded me of what we all need to hear sometimes- “You deserve this. You deserve rest, you’ve worked hard and deserve to do nothing now.” Melting into my mat, feeling so supported both physically and emotionally just felt amazing. Yoga Village opens THIS SUNDAY! I’m shouting it front the rooftops because I’m SO. FREAKING. EXCITED! Not only am I excited about a vision I’ve worked so hard toward for the last year + coming to fruition, an amazing partnership and space sharing with Holistika & it’s incredible founder Ash Lew, and our beautiful & intimate space, but I think I’m most excited about the PEOPLE. The community that we are bringing together is already showing to be incredibly powerful, and I’m not afraid to say I am being extremely picky about who I bring on to teach at Yoga Village. There’s a lot in my vision, and we are starting with but a small piece of that vision, but the essence of our adult yoga classes is that you will LEARN something, whether that’s about your physical body, your mind, yoga, or your truest self. Thank you everyone for the amazing flood of birthday wishes yesterday! I feel so grateful to be surrounded by such inspiring and supportive people 🥰 as we head into our spring break week, I’m taking this time to fully appreciate my family, and soak in the excitement of my dream manifesting into reality ✨ I have been working toward opening Yoga Village for over a year (really much longer), and while this space will be a very scaled down version, it is our first step in truly setting the vision into reality. Allie McMurdo is a dedicated educator with over a decade of experience teaching both middle and elementary school students. Currently serving as an elementary P.E. teacher in the Berkeley Unified School District, Allie brings passion and enthusiasm to her role, particularly in her love for teaching kids yoga and mindfulness. Allie creates engaging and dynamic learning experiences for her students, helping them strengthen the mind-body connection and develop a love for movement.
