What an honour it was to share the evening with the thirteen beautiful souls who came together during "the void," ahead of the Winter Solstice this week. My deep gratitude to Britt @aurora_body for her facilitation of the circle, the journalling and the sharing. I personally find it so potent to speak and to listen during circle. There is such power in being brave enough to acknowledge (and perhaps) speak your own truth, and to hold space while others do so. May all intentions set this evening for letting go and for inviting in be honoured with a divine unfolding. My offering was the guidance of some gentle yogasana, a tratika (candle gazing) meditation and a Yoga Nidra. Join us in Currumbin Valley’s pristine rainforest on Sunday 25th June to celebrate the Winter Solstice. We will gather for a seasonal women’s circle around the fire, under the trees and tapped into Mother Nature and her rhythms 🌿 Here in the Southern Hemisphere we are approaching the Winter Solstice or Yule, which is the start of the new rotation of the Wheel of the Year and marks one of the most important celestial events that our ancestors celebrated. The Winter Solstice is the beginning of the return of the light - after the shortest day and longest night of the year, the light and warmth slowly return as we move towards Summer Solstice. Our circle will focus on the rebirth that comes with the start of a new turn around the Wheel of the Year. We will set intentions about what we would like to birth into the new year, release anything that no longer serves us as we begin to prepare to emerge from the winter cocoon. Yule is a wonderful time to contemplate what is incubating with us during our winter hibernation and what will be revealed by the light when it returns. Es beginnt zugleich die Wintersonnenwende, die Steinbockseason und der kalendarische Winteranfang. Wenn die Wintersonnenwende kommt, treten wir in die längste Nacht und den dunkelsten Tag des Jahres ein. Wir haben den Gipfel der Dunkelheit betreten und nun warten wir geduldig, damit das Rad des Jahres seine Reise zurück ins Licht fortsetzt. In dieser Zeit werden wir erinnert in den kraftvollen Moment zu Vertrauen. Zu Vertrauen das das Licht zurückkehren wird. Wir dürfen uns selbst erlauben uns der Dunkelheit hinzugeben. Wir sollten uns daran erinnern, dass wir Alle und auch Alles im Dunklen geboren wird. Im Dunklen liegt der Ursprung von Allem. Und so halten wir inne, um uns zu fragen, welche Medizin & Fülle uns diese Jahreszeit bietet. Wir befinden uns zu dieser Zeit in die Tiefen des Winters, daher ist es auch ein Moment, um sich daran zu erinnern, dass das Licht bald zurückkehren wird, denn die dunkelsten Tage sind eigentlich der Beginn der Rückkehr zum Licht. Wir müssen nur auf Mutter Natur schauen um zu verstehen. Die Bäume sind kahl und doch passiert so viel in den Wurzeln. Winter ist eine Zeit der Ruhe, der tiefen Wiederauffüllung, eine Zeit der Kultivierung. Eine Zeit zum Anzünden des inneren Feuers, dass wir gewärmt und kraftvoll in die kommenden Monate reisen dürfen. Es mag den Anschein haben, als würde sich nichts bewegen, wie wenn man stagnieren würde, aber die ganze Arbeit passiert im Inneren. Also erlaube dir, dich der Energie des Winters hinzugeben. Wie fühlt es sich an in die Dunkelheit zu treten? Zelebrierst du die einzelnen Kräfte der Jahreszeiten? Was versucht die Dunkelheit dir gerade zu zeigen? Wie kannst du Dankbarkeit für die Dunkelheit empfinden? Es wird immer wieder dunkle Tage geben, dahinter versteckt sich ein hoher Sinn dahinter. Kannst du den Zweck dahinter sehen oder sogar spüren, wie dir die Dunkelheit dabei hilft zu wachsen? For the incas the solstices are celebration to the sun, the celebration to Inti Raymi father sun, husband of the moon capable to heal and ignite the harvest and the Kapac Raymi, celebrated in the summer solstice, the birth of the sun, an initiation for the new. Winter solstice in the indigenous traditions is considered as a rebirth because the harvest season ends and the land prepares for its new time of fertility. Summer solstice marks the transition from action to nourishment, as we embrace the light that the sun provides us, not only for the crops but also to assist us in our journey as we travel from dark to the light. December is a time of rest, decent, going within. Within ourselves, within our home to take in and process all we have experienced, all we have healed and learned in the last year.
