Contains spoilers What type of ending is that? What the hell? What the hell? Aaron and Juliette knew each other as kids? Damn. I did not see that coming. This is good. Too good. After reading the book solely from Juliettes POV. It was refreshing to read it from Aarons. I want to understand Aarons thought process. His feelings, emotions and past. I really want to dig into each his emotion and evaluate it. And this book has given me that. Not to the extent I wanted. But still. Something is better than nothing. The storylines keeps getting better with each book, but the action is just not upto standard. I just wish for something bone chilling action wise. I felt the emotional factor of the relationship was missing but it was addresses in this book. And did I mention I love reading Juliettes notebook extracts? The writing is beautiful in it. I am going to write the reviews of book 5 and 6 together because I don't have much to say. I felt the books keep getting shorter and kind of rushed. And I wanted more scenes of Juliette and Aaron together. I feel like there was a lot of background going on and not enough focus on them. Their love is portrayed a love that cannot be forgotten and lasts forever but there is not enough scenes to display that. And alot of work was done on Kenji. He was like the most important character, should I say that? But I guess at some level I am satisfied with Aaron's part on book 6. Because let's be honest we did not get to see him in action alot. And that book helped with that part. And the overall story, the way it ended and all was good. I will not say extraordinary but it's acceptable I guess. I will miss AWA alot. Shatter me - ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Bit of a late and short review, but another book series that I'm unsure of I personally found shatter me to be overhyped and overrated, but in fairness, that's usually what happens for most books that get hyped on social media. I have since read books 1.5 & started book 2 in the series, but I haven't picked it up for a while now tbh. Book 1 definitely put me in a slight reading slump when I completed it the other month. Das Bild eines Mädchens, das viel zu gut für diese Welt ist, bei Folter und Misshandlung keinen bösen Gedanken hegt und dann plötzlich eskaliert, war nicht überzeugend. Relativ schnell lernt man Adam kennen, der von Anfang an farblos bleibt und sich im Verlauf der Geschichte nicht weiterentwickelt. Warner war mein persönlicher Favorit ✨. Seine Geschichte war tiefgründig, seine Intentionen klar definiert und nachvollziehbar. Mich störten vor allem die teilweise sehr brutalen Handlungen ohne Konsequenzen – lediglich eine Verwarnung fürs nächste Mal. In the aftermath of Juliette shooting Warner in order to escape and save Adam from death's hands we get a complete POV from Warren as he struggles to maintain his control over Sector 45, while battling with his love for Juliette, and contending with his psychopath of a father all while healing from the gunshot wound. Obsessed with power, control, and ultra possessive over Juliette, Warner has truly become unraveled by Juliette. He is a complicated character. As much of a puppet as everyone else is in this world. His life didn't change after the uprising of the Reestablishment. It's just as desolate and isolating as before. Juliette was his one shining bit of light in the murkiness of his reality. Through "Destroy Me," we see the layers to Warner peal away. Warner was raised by a monster and must construct walls in his mind to empty out himself. He feels he's been truly seen by Juliette, for she sees the cracks in his facade. After finding her journal, Warner finally gets a chance to peek into her mind and relaized that at their core, that the foundation of their lives (both children who were abused and discarded) they are strikingly similar. Junto a Warner enfrentará el desafío de gobernar y mantener la paz, sin embargo, cuando la tragedia golpea y secretos salen a la luz, ambos tendrán que luchar no sólo con sus enemigos externos, sino también con los demonios internos que amenazan con destruirlos. ❄️ Se sabe que amo esta saga con mucho cariño. Así que volverme a adentrar en este mundo distopíco me emocionó bastante. La química entre Juliette y 💕Warner💕 se sigue notando, y aunque yo amo verlos juntos sí siento que la mayor parte del libro se trató de su relación y se olvidaron del problema central. Me hubiera gustado más un balance entre su relación y la trama principal. Me dolió lo que sucedió entre ambos, pero en partes sentí que iba a pasar en algún momento, y es que con comunicación todo hubiera estado bien desde el inicio. Y en cuanto al desarrollo de la trama, me pareció un poco lento al inicio y por partes Juliette me desesperaba porque no hacía nada para gobernar. Pero para la última parte, la acción se intensifica y la historia toma un giro inesperado, revelando secretos que no se ven venir. Y ese final que me dejó con la boca abierta fue ¡Wow!, la escritora nos dejó con un tipo final y solo sentí la necesidad de empezar el siguiente libro enseguida. ❄️ No es el mejor libro de la saga, pienso que Tahereh lo hizo solo para alargar la historia de unos personajes queridos. May Reading Wrap Up ✨ Here are my stats for the month of May. The month started strong with binge reading the Shatter Me series and reading books with library/libby deadlines. The last two weeks I barely read anything. I finished Mornings in Jenin the day before the Rafah tent massacre of May 23rd and have not been in a reading mood since then. All of the books I did read were wonderful, recommend them all highly. The Membranes was top tier sci-fi 🙌🏼 Chain-Gang All-Stars felt too real, amazing piece of literature. „Wyśnij mnie”- 6 tom serii shatter me Tahereh Mafi w ten poniedziałek miało swoją premierę. Od razu po otrzymaniu paczki z tym cudem zabrałam się za czytanie i niestety zajęło mi to niemal jeden dzień. Serce mi się łamie, gdy myślę o tym, że została tylko 1 nowelka z moimi ukochanymi postaciami w tym świecie. Pierwszy tom serii- „Dotknij mnie”- urzekł mnie już od pierwszych stron. Styl pisania, portret emocji (głównie tych negatywnych) i stanu Juliette jest niesamowity. I aż do „Wyśnij mnie” poziom serii i emocji rósł, każdy tom był coraz lepszy. Ilość zwrotów akcji i silnych emocji nieraz wywołała u mnie ciarki, łzy, wzruszenie i w końcu szczęście. Historia, którą udało się stworzyć autorce jest pełna przeciwności losu i wręcz przerażających wątków, mimo to nie mogłam się oderwać od książki w poszukiwaniu odpowiedzi na wiele pytań, które z każdą stroną tylko się mnożyły. Nie ma tutaj nic zbędnego- każda litera, głoska, strona są pełne akcji i uczuć. Uważam, że „Wyśnij mnie” to idealne zwieńczenie całej historii i nie mogę się doczekać dopełnienia w postaci nowelki. Tahereh Mafi „Ulecz mnie” Ocena- 5/5⭐️ „Ulecz mnie” to część po którą sięgnęłam bez kompletnie żadnych oczekiwań, ponieważ gdy wcześniej sięgałam po poprzednie tomy z jakimiś wymaganiami, niestety się zawadziłam. Jestem kompletnie oczarowana tą częścią i nie mogę się doczekać, aż będę mogła przeczytać kolejną. W tym tomie dostaliśmy mnóstwo emocji i rozterek bohaterów. Juliette przejęła władzę w Sektorze 45, ale czy to oznacza zwycięstwo? No właśnie. I tutaj pojawiają się problemy. Oczywiście wszyscy wiedzą o zagrożeniu ze strony Przywrócenia, dlatego nie mogą odpuścić dalszych planów i intryg. Autorka genialnie prowadzi cały wątek tej rebelii i pokazuje, że wcale nie jest to takie proste, jakie może wydawać się na pierwszy rzut oka. Bardzo podoba mi się rozwój Juliette. Wiadomo, że w pierwszym tomie była raczej zagubiona, wystraszona i nie było z nią najlepiej. W tej części widać ogromny progres jaki przeszła na przestrzeni tych tomów i jak staje się coraz pewniejsza siebie i nieustraszona. Kolejnym interesującym aspektem w jej postaci, są rozterki które przechodzi podczas przejęcia władzy nad Sektorem. To było coś niesamowicie prawdziwego! Serio. Czułam się jakbym czytała o czymś autentycznym, co wydarzyło się naprawdę. Często autorzy pomijają te kwestie niepewności i rozdarcia związanego z przejęciem władzy, a jest to coś zupełnie naturalnego, co powinien przechodzić każdy bohater. Bardzo podoba mi się również w jakim kierunku poszła postać Aarona. Dzięki właściwym ludziom może w końcu przekonać się jak wyglądają prawdziwe relacje międzyludzkie. Niestety przez surowe wychowanie przez jego toksycznego ojca, Aaron dalej jest bardzo skryty i boi się wielu rzeczy. Pomimo, że uchodzi on za pewnego siebie, to wcale tak do końca nie jest. Jednak naprawdę imponuje mi, że pomimo okropnego traktowania, dalej pozostaje uroczy i kochany. Ta część w porównaniu do poprzednich jest dosyć spokojna i nie dzieje się tutaj niewiadomo ile rzeczy. ✨ 𝑩𝑶𝑶𝑲 𝑹𝑬𝑽𝑰𝑬𝑾 ✨ ⭐️ 4 ⭐️ 🩶 Shatter Me series - book 6 🩶 This was such a great read and it started to bring the series to a close so nicely. There were a few random parts which confused me and felt unnecessary, for example the dog LOL. And the way that Aaron brought Juliette back to herself… I know we love him & he’s basically a god, but is he that special ?!?! (IYKYK) I don’t have LOADS to say about this one because the entire series is merged into one inside my head, I started the series on 19th Feb and finished it on 25th March, so I devoured the 11 books across 5 weeks. But obviously I’d recommend it & only have good things to say about this book & series <3 QOTD 🔍: what book series would you always recommend?
→ Shatter Me [ seconda trilogia ] @tahereh ⚡️ ❝ imagine me master of my own universe I am everything I ever dreamed of. un anno e mezzo fa vi presentavo l’inizio di questa serie, parlandovi dei primi tre volumi che la compongono, ed eccomi qui, oggi, a parlarvi della seconda parte di questa serie: quella che ci porta a scoprire eventi determinanti e vivere svolte inaspettate. ➰ se la prima parte della storia di juliette può certamente essere descritta come drammatica, questi altri tre volumi lo sono ancora di più, perchè le carte che vengono a scoprirsi pagina dopo pagina sembrano non finire più. e così, non è più solo qualche ricordo del passato a fare male, ma anche il presente diventa, per juliette, un doloroso percorso di scoperta e accettazione. oltre ai personaggi principali già incontrati nei primi tre libri, tra cui juliette, aaron warner - colonna portante della storia insieme a j - e kenji, compaiono in questa seconda trilogia alcune nuove figure: in particolare, si riveleranno importanti per la storia nazeera e il fratello haider, figli del comandante supremo dell’asia. entrambi personaggi molto interessanti, la prima in modo particolare, con la sua mente lucida e tagliente. 💫 come dicevo poco più su, questa seconda trilogia è ben più dolorosa della prima. è densa di eventi e scoperte che lasciano con il fiato sospeso e il cuore dolorante: un vero e proprio susseguirsi di emozioni che si annodano e non trovano equilibrio e pace se non una volta voltata l’ultima pagina. c’è sicuramente stato un cambio radicale di prospettiva rispetto a come la trama era stata gestita nei primi tre libri, e devo ammettere di averlo molto apprezzato. nonostante il nodo in gola crescente che ho percepito per moltissimi dei capitoli di questi ultimi tre volumi, se penso a questa serie ho un’immagine tutt’altro che triste o cupa in mente. un pizzico di malinconia c’è, ma porterò con me per sempre il bellissimo ricordo di una storia di forza, lotta, unione e amore. 🩶
