Took home second today at the @adcc_official Open in Phoenix. 🥈 Seconds place is never the goal, but honestly, I’m just grateful to be on the podium again. 😌 I won my first match by submission, second by points in overtime, third match by points, and lost in the finals by aoki lock. Needless to say, these still room for improvement, but I’m grateful that I got the opportunity to glorify God in my wins and even in my loss. Those that know me know there was a time when it was a bad day for my if I came home with anything other than gold so I’m grateful for the work my God has done in me: 🙈😂 I’m also grateful that I got to bring back some hardware for my team @10thplanetoceanside 🙏🏼 I’m still just as competitive as I was before, I just understand that there’s more to me than a random Jiu Jitsu tournament and that this isn’t the end of the road, we’re just getting started. 😼 Also, @chrissdixson showed me the answer to the move I got caught after my match so it won’t happen again and I’m better for it. 😁 I also want to give to a special S/O to @jnglathletico for helping me look fresh on the mats with the gear drop they gave me. 🙏🏼 They actually overnighted the gear to me so I would have it in time and I’m glad I didn’t disappoint 🙈😂 For the record, the is the first ADCC Open I’ve placed in and it’s the first one I wore their gear to one so I think it’s safe to say their gear really does bump up your technique +10 points 🙌🏼😂 S/O to all of my teammates that competed today too.
