Changeable Lizard: An Indicator of a Healthy Environment The #changeablelizard (Calotes versicolor), also known as the oriental garden lizard, Indian garden lizard, or bloodsucker, is a versatile agamid lizard native to Indo-Malaya. Changeable lizards are highly adaptable and can thrive in a variety of habitats, ranging from undergrowth in forests to urban areas. However, due to the over-exploitation of dense forests and shrublands, they are threatened. When threatened by predators, they rapidly dart to the nearest tree and climb to safety. Trees are their safest refuge, but deforestation and the introduction of new business operations are affecting their habitats. This imbalance in the forest can lead to an imbalance in the #ecosystem. The two weeks of immersion in the UK have prepared us to tackle sustainability challenges with updated and strategic knowledge, aligning ourselves with global best practices and the most ambitious climate goals. Here are some of the highlights: 👩🏻🔬 We took the first steps towards a scientific/technological alliance with Cambridge’s Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy to validate and characterise our products with one of the world’s leading experts in new materials with optimised thermal properties. 🎤 We refined our pitch, negotiation skills, and approach to investors and stakeholders in the startup ecosystem, focusing on the UK market and culture. 💰 We started a conversation with an English climate tech investment fund that might be interested in investing. We are happier and more excited than ever to continue our commitment to revolutionising the construction industry through our biomaterials and contributing to mitigating carbon emissions in this sector. A moment of gratitude 💕 It’s been nearly 7 years since I first picked up a woodburning pen, and about 6 years of running Myra’s Art Studio. From participating in a variety of markets & events to running Woodburning Workshops all over the GTA, it’s been an absolute whirlwind. I now have the opportunity of bringing @odetotallow into the loop and immersing myself in the world of both art and natural health. It’s been incredible meeting so many amazing people, and getting to be a part of this small business community. I’m eternally grateful to Allah for this journey, and the opportunities & blessings He’s gifted. I pray that through these businesses, I am able to benefit & help others, and continue to meet amazing people along the way.
