P-40N Warhawk P-40N (manufactured 1943–44), the final production model. The P-40N featured a stretched rear fuselage to counter the torque of the more powerful, late-war Allison engine, and the rear deck of the cockpit behind the pilot was cut down at a moderate slant to improve rearward visibility. A great deal of work was also done to try and eliminate excess weight to improve the Warhawk's climb rate. Early N production blocks dropped a .50 in (12.7 mm) gun from each wing, bringing the total back to four; later production blocks reintroduced it after complaints from units in the field. Supplied to Commonwealth air forces as the Kittyhawk Mk IV. A total of 553 P-40Ns were acquired by the Royal Australian Air Force, making it the variant most commonly used by the RAAF. Zu mir, meine #XMen ! 😱 #XMen97 hat mich bislang einfach absolut beeindruckt und nun bin ich sehr gespannt, was das Finale der ersten Staffel auf #DisneyPlus heute für uns bereit halten wird. Was wäre zu diesem Anlass besser geeignet, als der neue #XJet von #LEGO ? 🤗 Leider hat das Set #76281 mit dem offiziellen Titel #XMenXJet einige kontroverse Ecken, über die wir natürlich reden müssen. Mal wieder fängt es beim Preis an, denn 84,99€ sind für den Flieger mit unter 400 Teilen viel zu viel. Da größere Teile dabei sind wären 50-60€ in Ordnung gewesen, um da nochmal Rabatte drauf zu bekommen. Bei den @steineheldende habe ich nun 60€ dafür ausgeben, also immerhin bei einem guten Laden gekauft 🙈 Der Jet selbst ist schön gestaltet und man erkennt die #Blackbird einwandfrei, dazu ist sie deutlich stabiler als das Vorgängermodell von vor 10 Jahren. Den Innenraum hätte ich mir geräumiger gewünscht, 4 Minifiguren haben Platz und das war es dann auch. Genau diese Anzahl an #Minifiguren ist auch enthalten: #Wolverine , #Cyclops , #Rogue und #Magneto . Logan ist leider ein Downgrade zur CMF Version, der Rest ist wirklich cool ☺️ Macht sich auch mit Beast, Storm und dem besseren Wolverine gut, wobei zwei Figuren dann draußen Fliegen müssen. Mit anderen Worten: Mit mehr #LegoXMen brauchen wir auch einen größeren #LegoXJet . Vielleicht kriegelt der Flieger ja den Platz, den in diesem Jahr die Milano einnimmt 🤔 Insgesamt hoffe ich, dass dieses Set die Chance auf weitere #LegoXMen97 Sets nicht mindert, denn den Rest des Hauptcasts möchte ich nur zu gerne haben. ~Hawker Hunter F.Mk.6~ The Hawker Hunter was a product from a in 1948 given specification by the British Airways Ministry for a daytime jet powered interceptor. Designed by Sydney Camm the Hawker Hunter had, wich was uncommon for that time period, swept wings. The Hawker Hunter was also going to be fitted out with the new Rolls Royce Avon engine, wich was stronger than its predecessors because it had an axial compressor. During the Korean War de RAF soon found out it needed a better interceptor than the Gloster Meteor and because they were in a hurry, they ordered the Hawker Hunter after only seeing it on a drawing board. After many months of testing the first Hunter F.Mk1 made its maiden flight on March 16 1953. - Now this particular Hawker Hunter is a Mark 6 used by the Royal Netherlands Airforce. The first Hunters from the RNLAF were actually Mark. 4, but later they got the Improved Mark 6 (wich had a newer Avon engine) and the trainer version of the Hunter the T.Mk.7. The Dutch Hunters were mainly build by Fokker. The Hunters served in the RNLAF from 1953 to 1968. During 1953 and 1968 the Hunters saw some combat time far in Papua New Guinea wich was invaded by the Indonesians and the Hunters were there trying to intercept Indonesian transport planes carrying paratroopers into the jungle. -So as i said this Hunter is based on the Mark 6 version. It has the late colour scheme cause that was the only one wich i was able to do with the colours Lego has. It is kitted out with a two small external fueltanks and on each wing a Sidewinder, this is based on what they used during the time they were stationed in Papua New Guinea. The build took a long time, cause i never really liked it until now. The dog tooth was really hard to do, but it was must to do cause its such an iconic feature of the Hunter. A few weeks ago, I made another attempt at F-18s, and it failed. I decided after this to just name it the FJ-18 Wasp, and I was able to use it with the carrier Jean Luc as a multiple fighter for a bit. I tested some foldable wings, however they just looked very ugly. I was able to learn something that I am currently using on a fighter that I will make a bunch of, but more on that in the future. After several months of on and off work and waiting for parts I have finally finished my new Lego F-16C Fighting Falcon MOC. It features working flaps and air brakes, fully retracting landing gear, and a detailed cockpit. I got the pieces for the LMS Jean-Luc, and It's finished for now. Here are some pictures of it currently, with its new look. The last picture also shows it alongside the LMS Iron Mound, which really made me think about how large the Jean-Luc is. The Jean-Luc is so large that I can't get any images of it alone right now, but I should be able to find someplace eventually. It still baffles me on how large it is because by now, it is the longest lego ship I have ever made. I currently have 10 planes on board, which is possible due to the hanger inside the ship, I might take some pictures of that eventually. Antoine meet his little prince Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (29 June 1900 – c. 31 July 1944), was a French writer, poet, journalist and aviator. He received several prestigious literary awards for his novella The Little Prince (Le Petit Prince) and for his lyrical aviation writings, including Wind, Sand and Stars and Night Flight (Vol de nuit). His works have been translated into many languages. Saint-Exupéry was a successful commercial pilot before World War II, working airmail routes in Europe, Africa, and South America. He joined the French Air Force at the start of the war, flying reconnaissance missions until France's armistice with Germany in 1940. After being demobilised by the French Air Force, he travelled to the United States to help persuade its government to enter the war against Nazi Germany. Saint-Exupéry spent 28 months in the United States of America, during which he wrote three of his most important works, then joined the Free French Air Force in North Africa, even though he was far past the maximum age for such pilots and in declining health. He disappeared and is believed to have died while on a reconnaissance mission from the French island of Corsica over the Mediterranean on 31 July 1944. Although the wreckage of his plane was discovered off the coast of Marseille in 2000, the ultimate cause of the crash remains unknown. America’s aerial spearhead of the 21st Century… Here I have 3 models representing the forefront of modern American airpower: the 4.5 Gen F/A-18E Super Hornet and the 5th Gen F-22A Raptor and F-35B Lightning II. The Super Hornet is the Navy’s carrier-based multirole fighter. Replacing the F-14 and A-6, the Super Hornet performs carrier defense, air interdiction, and air superiority among other things. Often confused with the Legacy Hornets, the Super Hornet family was developed from those legacy jets as entirely new aircraft. Until the introduction of the F-35C to America’s flattops, the Supers were the only combat jet available to the Navy since the phasing out of the F-14 and A-6. The Lightning II program is a Pandora’s box of controversy; however, the performance of the 1,000+ jets flying speaks for itself. The 3 Lightning II variants were designed as a low-observable, precision-strike multirole platform. Very much a 21st Century development, the “flying supercomputers” are mainly replacing the F-16, A-10, Legacy Hornet, and AV-8. The F-35B specifically has given the USMC exceptional potent strike capability to utilize in conjunction with their amphibious assault doctrine. Capable of STOVL, the F-35B is a perfect 21st Century replacement for the beloved Harrier. The Raptor needs no introduction, but it falls under its own category along with the F-15: air superiority. Originally meant to replace the F-15, the Raptor was built from the ground up to be the next generation of American air dominance. The Raptor is thus the Air Force’s premier air superiority fighter that can even support multirole missions as well. Essentially, the Super Hornet is a Swiss Army Knife, the Lighting II is a throwing star, and the Raptor is a katana. LEGO Mirage 2000 COMPLETE!!! After over a month of waiting for my final Lego parts order, I've finally completed my Mirage 2000! Completed in 1:58 Scale, this Mirage 2000 is the same scale as the Lego Icons Concorde 10318. It features a stand that can display a plethora of underwing ordnance and fuel tanks. The livery is that of 115-YH, called "Mission Accomplie". Big thanks to my friend @allamalad, who printed out the stickers for me! This is my first 100% complete MOC and will be available on Rebrickable soon. The stand and aircraft will be available for purchase (price TBD), and the underwing ordnance instructions will be a separate, free-to-download set. I'm still in the process of making the sticker PDF for Rebrickable, so the instructions are not up yet. Flying Bulls Lightning History: Lefty Gardner, former B-24 and B-17 pilot and associate of the Confederate Air Force, bought a mid-1944 P-38L-1-LO that had been modified into an F-5G. Gardner painted it white with red and blue trim and named it White Lightnin'; he reworked its turbo systems and intercoolers for optimum low-altitude performance and gave it P-38F-style air intakes for better streamlining. White Lightnin' was severely damaged in a crash landing following an engine fire on a transit flight, and was bought and restored with a brilliant polished-aluminum finish by the company that owns @redbull . The aircraft is now located in the Hanger7, Austria.
