✣ LAGO FEDÈRA ✣ Als wir am frühen Nachmittag am 2.038 Meter hoch gelegenen Bergsee Lago Fedèra angekommen waren und uns in der Rifugio Croda da Lago gestärkt hatten, machte ich mich an die Arbeit. Geplant war, am Abend den Sonnenuntergang mit hoffentlich eindrucksvollen Farben im Bergmassiv vor mir einzufangen. Um die Wartezeit zu überbrücken, erkundete ich den Lago Fedèra und suchte nach Möglichkeiten, ein gutes Foto zu komponieren. Beim Umrunden des Sees und im Schatten der umliegenden Berge stach in Blickrichtung der Becco di Mezzodi hervor, der von der langsam untergehenden Sonne am späten Nachmittag beleuchtet wurde. Mit dem extrem ruhigen See und der daraus resultierenden Spiegelung war es nicht schwer, schnell eine Komposition zu finden, denn die Umgebung bot sich perfekt als Rahmen an. 🔸Canon EOS R 🔸Canon RF 14-35mm @ f8 / 14mm 🔸1/100 sec. ISO 100 🌍 As we arrived at the 2,038-meter-high mountain lake Lago Fedèra in the early afternoon and had fortified ourselves at the Rifugio Croda da Lago, I got to work. The plan was to capture the sunset with hopefully impressive colors in the mountain massif ahead of me in the evening. To pass the time, I explored Lago Fedèra and looked for opportunities to compose a good photo. While circling the lake and in the shadow of the surrounding mountains, the Becco di Mezzodi stood out in the direction of my gaze, illuminated by the slowly setting sun in the late afternoon. With the extremely calm lake and the resulting reflection, it wasn’t difficult to quickly find a composition, as the surroundings provided the perfect frame. ✨Thank you for taking a look. I had already done this hike a few days ago and didn't want to go up the mountain again in the middle of the night. Finally I was told a day in advance that there was still 1 spot available to go up in a jeep. And it also turned out to be the best sunrise. I took this photo with exposure bracketing. Lago Federa Croda da Lago, situated in the Italian Dolomites southwest of Cortina d’Ampezzo, Belluno, Italy, is a small mountain range. Our journey began at the Ponte di Rocurto trailhead, where the path winded through a yellow-colored forest, eventually leading to Rifugio Croda da Lago G. Palmieri (2046 m) nestled on the shores of Lago Federa. Although this lake has graced the lenses of many photographers, it's noteworthy that it remains in the shadows from 1-3 pm onwards. To witness its complete splendor, embarking on this hike early in the day is highly recommended. Lago Federa, a mountain lake nestled beneath the eastern wall of Croda da Lago in the Ampezzo Dolomites, is surrounded by larch trees, offering the perfect autumn and winter backdrop. 📍Lago Fedèra, Dolomites, Italy 🇮🇹 . "Larches in autumn" I visited this lake twice. First I hiked towards this place close to sunset. But I also wanted to see it during sunrise. I just didn't feel like doing the hike again in the middle of the night, my hotel wasn't really nearby. However, there is a mountain hut next to the lake and I asked the owner how else you can get to this place. He said that sometimes jeep taxis go to the hut and gave me a telephone number. I called the jeep service but they didn't had any space left. I made a few more phone calls to other jeep services but no result as well. My only chance was Wednesday because the weather looked good. On Tuesday afternoon I sent them again a message asking if they still had 1 spot available. And yes!! I was lucky. Sometimes all things come together.
