I am sitting here on a Friday morning writing method statements and looking forward to a zoom session for my Nurturing Clutter Circle this afternoon. I just feel so much joy in what I am doing. For me I have to bring so much to my work. I am an all or nothing person and can only work in areas I enjoy. I walked away from teaching as it was no longer right for me and I have turned down jobs because they would not bring me joy. But today has reminded me why I love what I do. So first thing I thought of, besides the fact that I am not selling anyone a holiday, a romance, a day at the spa, a dream car, a dream home, or a dream body, was actually how much do we spend on that stuff to be happy for a few hours, days, months? Those things are tangible, You can touch them. But that isn’t what I’m selling. Neither am I selling a book of jokes or a video on how to look happy all the time. But enough of that. So what do I sell? A feeling? The feeling is the icing on the cake if you like but let’s clear up a few things first. You see it isn’t just a feeling, it’s like guiding someone to jump under their own skin with a black bin liner, to collect all or at least most of the hurtful things stored there, all the ‘I can’t’ and the ‘I’m not good enough because’ messages and anything else there that’s blurring their vision of themselves and their greatness, and putting it all in the bin bag. Then while still under their own skin, finding that part of them, that we call our intuition or inner being, and connecting. This is where the happiness part comes into it. You see that connection is a daily reminder that we’re not alone, we’re not powerless, instead we are magnificent, powerful, deeply unconditionally loved and worthy of all the best things in life. Imagine knowing that every day? Imagine walking around knowing that you’re unconditionally loved. Imagine knowing that you exist in truth without judgement? Usually at this point my guidance is no longer needed because all the help that you’ll ever need is inside you and you’re now connected to it. Right, this isn’t about imagining, it is real and it’s the realest thing we have in this world. And here lies the irony, this thing that’s intangible, that you can’t touch, is the greatest gift we have and yes, it’s all love. 🌟 I’m a Happiness Coach because I decided to guide others to experience the real beauty of being alive and once they get that, trust me, they’re happy! Today I’m doing self care by giving myself a facial. Each picture is every step. After washing my face I put on a clay mask for 20 minutes, then rinsed. Let face dry and air out. Then a hydrating face mask for 20 minutes, remove and let the serum set on face. Next I usually do under eye mask but I’m leaving that for tonight. I recently got sick with COVID. Can you believe it’s my first time catching it ever? I went 4 years without contracting it and I got it earlier this week. It’s a bummer since I really like my new job and it’s so early in the year. I’m grateful the symptoms aren’t so bad and I have medicine. I slept most of the day my first two days with it. I finally feel good enough to TREAT MYSELF! I’m hoping to get back to work soon because I really started finding my rhythm after new years. I’m just grateful for feeling better, having work after a long hiatus and people in my life that support me. Just a reminder to practice gratitude by thinking of the good you have in your life and not focus too much energy on the setbacks. Putting most of your energy on the negative too often can really wire your brain to only see the negative and eventually affect your happiness.
