今回の旅は北カリフォルニアにあるスタンフォード大学のツアーでスタートしました ご存知のように大学はヤフーやGoogleの聖地、シリコンバレーの中心地 クライアントのお嬢様たちおふたりとも、この大学の学生で、学食でランチを頂いたあと学内を案内して下さいました！ まずはキャンパスの大きさに圧倒されます ロダン美術館をはじめ、古代から現代までのさまざまな美術館群、食のテーマごとに分かれた学食、学生寮、研究所や図書館はもちろんのこと、学内にハワイのアラモアナみたいに大規模なショッピングセンターがあったり、病院や広大なゴルフコースまであり、学生たちはキャンパスの外に一歩も出る事なく学生生活をしていると言います その規模は、なんと東京ドーム700個分‼️ もはや『立派な町』ですよね アップダウンがないので、学生達はみんな自転車で移動 おふたりとも、『この環境で勉強出来る私達は本当にラッキーだわ』と繰り返していたのが微笑ましく、印象的でした Sweet young ladies of our clients kindly showed us around the campus of their university, the Stanford. This Month in 19th century America On May 10, 1869, the Transcontinental Railroad was completed, presenting one continuous railway system from the east to the west. The ceremonial "Golden Spike" was hammered into the rails at Promontory Summit in Utah, completing this massive project. The Spike was made out of 17.6-karat copper-alloyed gold and weighed 436 grams, so it really was a golden spike! The Golden Spike is currently in the Cantor Arts Center at Stanford University. The transcontinental railroad ushered in a new era in America and led to both increased settlement and economic growth in the western territories and state. This weekend kicked off the 6th Edition of the @brazilatsiliconvalley conference from April 7-9th. The Welcoming Happy Hour event was held at Stanford University’s breathtaking Cantor Arts Center. The museum featured several installations, such as The Faces of Ruth Asawa by Ruth Asawa and The Melancholy Musuem: Love, Death, and Mourning at Stanford by Mark Dion. The Welcoming Happy Hour event was sponsored by Stark Bank and as seen by the pictures, it kicked off the brainstorming and networking of some of the greatest minds and leaders in AI technology from all over the world. #RichardDiebenkorn carried a sketchbook with him throughout his life—opening it at moments of leisure in his backyard, while looking at stone facades in Granada or Provence, or in the studio as a different substrate for making marks. Drawing was a medium he regularly pursued, finding value in the change of scale and texture of paper. His wife Phyllis appeared often on the pages of these sketchbooks as shown here. He places her diagonally on the page, leaving her form to extend beyond the paper edges. Her shirt’s stripes and her hair are dense, robust, solid. “He had a very powerful way of rendering lines—thin and thick—and sometimes he mixed them with india ink or with pencil and graphite, all in the most unpredictable ways,” wrote artist Enrique Chagoya in 2015. 스탠포드 대학교에 도착한 남매의 친한남매 놀이ㅋㅋ 많이 찍었지만 건진건 3컷이네요 요기서 제가 가보고 싶었던 곳은 스탠포드 D스쿨로 알려진 Hasso Plattner Institute of Design 일반인 출입이 금지라 입구너머로 작업대만 보고 왔지만 왠지 벅찬느낌이랄까요? 혹여 아이들이 워크샵으로나마 나중에 수업을 들었봤으면 하는 기대를 안고 Cantor Arts Center로 향했어요 로뎅의 작품을 100여점 넘게 소유하고 있는 이곳은 정말 가볼만 한거 같아요 #20240218 #stanforduniversity #dschool #hassoplattnerinstituteofdesign #cantorartscenter #rodin
