Sipping down the last bit of a Milk Oolong sample from @westchinatea as a late morning session today! 🌱🐮 The liquor is so velvety and smooth with a thickness to it that mirrors the rich, buttery taste and isn't always present in this style of oolong the way I'm getting now. On top of a prominent note of double churned, fresh better I also get a lot of cooked milk flavour in the way that, say, a White Rabbit candy would taste. I really like that comparison because it's actually quite sweet tasting also. Like dipping freshly picked violets into sweetened condensed milk. Which is a good thing. Love that syrupy floral element that cuts through all the, well, daily comparisons. Having stir-fried the tea leaves in the wok, we went on to knead and roll it by hand. The tea farmers would only roll the high-quality tea leaves by hand. For normal leaves, it would be done by the machine. Sun-drying the leaves would be the last stage of the tea making process. The final product would be known as "mao cha" or primary tea that is ready for consumption and sale as loose pu-erh tea. Druid and I took a trip out to Deal Castle and it’s a fascinating place, crammed full of weird and wonderful details, quirks and history! 🏰 I took tea with me of course and, up on the battlements we drank some of my @teaprouk Lan Gui Ren Oolong, some of my last in fact. Oolong čaj pripada grupi polu fermentisanih čajeva i smatra se da spaja najbolje kvalitete crnog i zelenog čaja. Ima intenzivno blago slatku blagu aromu, u poslednjih par godina veoma je popularan kao prirodni „sagorevač masti“ i borac protiv viška kilograma. Stručnjaci, ističu da ovaj čaj ima, pre svega, brojne zdravstvene koristi. Jača kosti, srce, dobro deluje na rad mozga, ali i celokupne psihe jer pomaže telu da se izbori sa stresom. Geografsko poreklo oolong čaja je Kina i Tajvan i u prevodu sa kineskog jezika znači „crveni zmaj“. Ovaj čaj napravljen je od listova biljke Camellia sinensis, koja se koristi i za pravljenje zelenog i crnog čaja. Razlika je jedno u načinu obrade čaja. I zeleni i crni i oolong čaj nastaju u procesu oksidacije. Zeleni čaj se proizvodi od svežih listova čaja koji nisu prošli proces oksidacije, hemijske reakciju koja počinje, kada se listovi čaja izlože vazduhu.
