Welcome to the opening tonight, 12 January, 17:00–20:00! Elin Odentia's exhibition 'Interlude (blue)' is her largest show to date and includes a series of new paintings all emanating from the same nuance of blue – the same colour enclosing the exhibition in our lower gallery room. In earlier works, the contrast between abstraction and figuration is a crucial aspect of Odentia’s practice. In her new project, a shift is visible towards abstraction as the paintings are reduced and condensed in form and colour, almost like monochromes. Elin Odentia (b. 1990) holds an MFA from the Royal Institute of Art, Stockholm and a BFA from University College of Arts, Craft & Design, Stockholm. She is represented in the collections of Uppsala Art Museum, Public Art Agency Sweden, Stockholm konst, Region Uppsala, Region Kalmar län, Region Dalarna, Swedish Association for Art (SAK) and Vinge Art Collection. Stockholm konst ansvarar för stadens konstsamling. Ett sparsmakat urval ur de konstinköp som gjordes under åren 2020 och 2021 visas på Liljevalchs+ fram till den 24 april. Genom en blandning av material, tekniker och uttryck bjuder Stockholm konst på ett visuellt äventyr där särdragen är viktigare än likheterna. Det övergripande syftet har varit att förmedla en mångfacetterad bild av de olikartade trådar som sammanflätas i Stockholms stads omfattande konstsamling. Presentationen vittnar om konstens förmåga att trivas tillsammans trots olikheterna och att behålla sin unika karaktär i flerstämmiga sammanhang. Här visas Elin Odentias verk.
