Fascinating tour of the College of Arms on Friday evening thanks to the @thelansdowneclubmayfair.
The college was founded by Richard III in the 1480s and is responsible for heraldry in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and many Commonwealth countries.
Our tour guide was the Clarenceux King of Arms - Timothy Duke - whose passion for the college and its work granting coats of arms, undertaking genealogical research, and planning ceremonial state occasions was wonderful. We got to see some incredibly old and fascinating documents from its library, a library where almost every single letter has been handwritten! So cool!
