Horvat asked artist friends based all over the world to exchange works with her. All the artists she has approached live as “foreigners” in different countries, and she asked them to make a drawing that reflects in some way on their experience of diaspora.
For every artwork she receives, Vlatka sends each artist a collage from the series she is making while in residence in Venice, using images she has taken of the city.
All the works travel to Venice and back via informal transport networks; in bags and suitcases of friends, acquaintances, and sometimes strangers enlisted as couriers for the project.
