✨Bespoke✨ What are some examples? 🤍Adding any form of detail (lace/ bead-work). Detail is expensive! Bead-work is extremely time consuming as this all has to be done by hand, bead by bead. Lace is expensive to acquire which then also has to be pinned and sewn in to place. 🤍Adding or changing a lining. For this to be done the WHOLE dress has to come apart, this is because a lining cannot just be 'inserted'. 🤍Creating bespoke sleeves; This involves drafting a pattern and construction of a toile with specific measurements prior to creating the final product. 🤍Embroidery This allows you to incorperate those personal touches into your special day. All of the above surpasses the skill of general alterations and will result in a significantly higher cost. There are a few things you need to bring with you to all your fittings…. 👙 The correct underwear - this can make or break your look… but don’t panic if you’re not sure what will work or not work with your gown…. Both these activities change your body…. and your gown, will be fitted to the body you rock up with at the first fitting. Losing/gaining a couple of pounds/inches is neither here nor there, I allow for that - but losing or gaining either in a greater amount AFTER starting your fittings is a recipe for disaster. Previous fittings will have been a waste of both your time & mine, your dress may reach the point of being beyond the scope of alterations, and if I have to do a job twice (or even 3 times 🙈) because of those pounds/inches then you pay me twice (or even 3 times 😬) … But the worst of all scenarios - I may not have any space left in my diary to complete a 4th or 5th fitting and you still have a gown that doesn’t fit 😢 None of these things are good for either of us.
