I had eagerly been waiting for the movie Challengers to finally be released and today it opened in theaters. Directed by Luca Guadagnino, known for Call Me by Your Name, Challengers features actress Zendaya as a fiercely competitive tennis prodigy involved in a love triangle. There is tension throughout the movie, and the extraordinary techno soundtrack by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross only adds to that. This is not a clichéd sports story meant to be inspirational, but rather a tale of ambition and backstabbing. There was plenty of product placement throughout the movie, but, if anything, it made the scenes feel more realistic.
