Yesterday we had Chinese for dinner! We had the crispy honey chicken with white rice, and it was super yummy! A couple of years ago, Stitch and I raised a cup of caterpillars and released them after they turned into butterflies! 4 out of the 5 caterpillars made it to adulthood. We have decided to try it out again this year, and this time, we decided to get 2 cups of caterpillars, so a total of 10 potential butterflies! This is them on May 10th, the beginning of our journey! Earlier this year I learned about the Meetups app, and discovered a local group (targeted towards introverts who are wanting to go out/do things/meet people 😅) that hosts a variety of different outings/activities. I've signed up for a couple events during the past couple months, just to chicken out and cancel my RSVP so someone else can go instead. Well, I FINALLY went to my first meet-up event yesterday, which was going to bingo at a nutrition/shake place! I enjoyed going, and ordered an Oreo Blast shake to drink while playing! I even ended up winning one of the games! I really want to try and push myself to step out of my comfort zone more. I need to meet new people, make some friends, and just try to do things that make me happy. It won't be easy, but it'll be worth it. One step at a time. Having Stitch with me also helps when it comes to stepping outside of my comfort zone...it's just comforting to have him! Yesterday was a pretty good day 🙂 We went out to eat for breakfast with my grandma after bringing our cans to the recycling place! A few weeks back Stitch was diagnosed with a Mast Cell Tumor on his shoulder blade. Last Friday I came home to quite the scene when I walked in…. Stitch greeted me at the door covered in blood and so was the whole apt. He tried to scratch the tumor off while I was at work! He went into shock moments after I got home and after more than 24 hours - thanks to his auntie who is a nurse - we were able to stop the bleeding. He’s been very weak and slow to gather his strength back this week, but seems to be doing much better. My little guy really is a warrior. The zoo had a little gemstone mining area, so Stitch and I decided to try it out! We bought a bag of gemstone mix from the gift shop and then spent some time panning it in the water and picking out our gemstones! It was fun watching as the sandy mixture was washed away, revealing the colorful gemstones! During our visit to the zoo, we loved seeing the penguins 🐧 (my favorite animal!) We visited them 4 times while we were there, and we probably could've spent all day just hanging out by them! 😆 This zoo offers some different experiences you can do with the penguins, including feeding them, going behind the scenes and being able to interact and learn about them, and even having them make paintings for you!! A couple of days ago, I had an extra day off of work! Stitch and I decided to take advantage of it and take a trip to the zoo! Yesterday, Stitch and I discovered that there is a zoo not too far away from our trailer! They had a lot of different animals there, and here are some of the pictures we took while we were there! Our favorite part was how close we were able to get to many of the animals! Last Thursday, while at work, my director went around the center and invited everyone to go axe throwing Saturday night! I wasn't sure at first whether or not I would go... axe throwing definitely wasn't something I'd ever considered doing before, but I figured why not give it a try! I almost didn't go due to the bad weather we had this morning, but the roads had improved a lot by the afternoon, and I'm so glad I went! It took me a little while to get the hang of it, but I could tell that the more I did it, the easier it became! There were a variety of games to pick from, too, which was cool! I even won a game!! Although we got a bunch of snow this morning and early afternoon, the roads were much better once they were plowed, and it stopped snowing! We stopped at a new local pet store that we've been meaning to check out for a little while now! It's still in the process of growing and adding more, but we had so much fun checking out all the fish, amphibians, reptiles, plants, and even insects! We picked up some aquatic plants, mealworms, a fish tank lid, and a new sponge filter! Last night, we had a weather forecast of 1-3 inches of snow for today.... well, we ended up getting a LOT more than that.... in our area, we got about 13 inches of snow 😅 I'm so over all of this snow! After coming home from work today, I noticed a bunch of robins flying and walking around our street in the snow looking for food! After looking online about what they eat, I saw they like mealworms! I feed my leopard gecko mealworms, and while I didn't have many mealworms left, I had an abundance of mealworm beetles, so I decided to throw some out on our driveway!
