#tattootalk Next up….my ferocious biceps. 😂 ‘Do you have a DW tattoo?’ Is quite commonly asked. Welp…here it is. Like the symmetrically placed ink on my other arm, these were added to help hide the scars from multiple PICC lines in those areas. There have been 8 now spanning 10 years. The ‘D’ in this tattoo is meant to resemble a bass clef…on the other arm, there are letters describing another passion(might reveal another time) with a treble clef in a similar style. The treble and bass clefs are also represented on my forearms. A hint of the treble clef can be seen here as well above my head. Most are about music and all must have some sort of match on the other side of my body. I hate asymmetry. LOL. So I plan for two tattoos when I go! 😂 These are Tori Amos lyrics. From my second favorite song and on my second fav album of all time. Yes…I have a list in order. ‘Silent all these years’ got me through a really tough time and I heard the record ‘Little Earthquakes’ when I was really first discovering secular music. I went to 3 of her shows when I was 19, died my hair red because of her. 😂 These words mean so much to me. I feel them…HARD. I felt unheard, unseen and unprotected as a child in many ways. In turn, I felt unworthy of love. Also, I felt that we are too easy in so many ways. ‘One more casualty….’ What’s it matter? And I see that more and more in society today. These are words that have stuck with me all my life. ❤️ I just had them tattooed on me last year, as arm tattoos were a fear for me. I was raised to believe tattoos were a huge sin, so I hid mine to avoid disapproval.
