I really haven’t known what to post since we’ve been here. I’ve been overwhelmed by the magnitude of what this band has done for our lives. I’ve cried so many tears of joy. I never imagined that one day we’d be playing Sheffield City Hall, the London Palladium, The Glasshouse, or Scotland’s SEC Armadillo….yet here we are. This guy right here is one of my favorite people! I’ve often told the story about the angel that flew me from my dad’s funeral to a gig that I was contracted for the same day, making it possible to be there for my band. It was one of the most difficult days in my musical career. We didn’t really know each other then….yet, he showed up and saved me. Wayne is incredible…selfless, always giving and never taking…a veteran…and one of the most honorable human beings I’ve ever met. Since then, he’s shown up several times when I didn’t ask him to…just to support us. Now, he’s a big part of our team. The ‘D’ in this tattoo is meant to resemble a bass clef…on the other arm, there are letters describing another passion(might reveal another time) with a treble clef in a similar style. The treble and bass clefs are also represented on my forearms. A hint of the treble clef can be seen here as well above my head. From my second favorite song and on my second fav album of all time. Yes…I have a list in order. ‘Silent all these years’ got me through a really tough time and I heard the record ‘Little Earthquakes’ when I was really first discovering secular music. I went to 3 of her shows when I was 19, died my hair red because of her. 😂 These words mean so much to me. I feel them…HARD. I felt unheard, unseen and unprotected as a child in many ways. In turn, I felt unworthy of love. Also, I felt that we are too easy in so many ways. ‘One more casualty….’ What’s it matter? And I see that more and more in society today. These are words that have stuck with me all my life. ❤️ I just had them tattooed on me last year, as arm tattoos were a fear for me. I was raised to believe tattoos were a huge sin, so I hid mine to avoid disapproval. Couple of things… 1. Sometimes it feels like the word ‘love’ just isn’t strong enough. There are friends and family…and then there are people that it’s hard to put in any category…people that you just know are going to be there…that are going to love you through your ugliest and hardest moments…people that know you better than you know yourself…people that have good intentions you 24/7…that aren’t selfish…that love and support you even if it doesn’t benefit them…that carry you when you can’t walk or crawl…literally…over and over. I was going to do what I thought was a tiny, more private, acoustic show by myself…but my piano bit the dust just before…. I can play enough guitar to get through it…. But this kid showed up and thank God he did. It was freezing cold, and a much bigger crowd than expected so we ended up outside playing. As always. My guys have my back. BLAM made sure I had the right sound equipment packed, and The Kid made sure it didn’t suck too bad. Haha. I’ve been playing the same guys for nearly 4 years….and with BLAM for nearly 6…. I can’t imagine it any other way. I love you guys so much! Thanks @curritucktradingpost We played songs that we’d never played, and laughed and had the most amazing time. Well, never in a million years would I think I’d ever get to meet a president, but music has shown me so really awesome times over the years… After an already extra busy day with @diamondsandwhiskeyofficial providing some tunes for the Forever Family Rescue benefit, time’s running out and we’ve got time for maybe a 15 minute set, so we condense it down and get ready to rock it like always… Then @realdonaldtrump walks in and you’re playing him to the stage with some Lee Greenwood by some magical alignment of the universe… I still don’t have the words to express the moment… but it happened.
