Hamid Rezaee encourages people to build solutions for the problems they face, regardless of age or prior entrepreneurial experience. As a third-year info science major at Cornell University, he co-founded an ambitious platform to make AI tools accessible to the Arabic-speaking world. Rezaee and his cofounder launched Luga AI in January 2024. Now, they’re finding clients across multiple industries who need AI tools, especially in translation and education. The company develops AI tools by fine-tuning Jais, an open-source large language model trained in English and Arabic which launched in August 2023. Luga AI aims to make products for businesses in education, law, media, and more. Rezaee has pursued his interest in machine learning through internships and research at Cornell. He is a Cane Entrepreneurial Scholar @cornelldysonschool , using the program’s resources to support his founding journey. He encouraged other student founders to utilize school resources and reach out to experts. 3.25.18: brewing honey stout beer with an innovative, driven student (Zay), honey from campus hives, a smart team, and hopes for impact across many fronts - including developing a delicious beer. We eventually hosted a tasting which provided a unique sales, marketing and networking opportunity for the students and programs involved. It was inspiring to see a student creator and multiple programs truly collaborate to develop and produce a physical product and then launch and promote it in less than 6 months.
